Not only is the scramble itself a bit iffy, but Crib Goch is one of the wettest places in the UK, getting about 175 inches of rain per year (comparable to the Olympic Rain Forest). The odds of having to do the scramble in less than ideal conditions are higher than I would like.Tiredretiredlawyer wrote: ↑Mon May 03, 2021 11:01 pmMe too. BUT I didn't watch the entire video.I could probably actually handle this last one. It's a sharp drop on the right hand side, but the left mostly slopes. I think psychologically I could handle that. Or at least most of it.

The Chesapeake Bay Bridge, the old span (on the right) has several sections paved with open steel grating through which you can see the waves 200 feet below your pegs, which is especially bracing when riding a 60-year-old motorcycle in the rain. At speed, the grating is practically invisible.... as I discovered coming back from a Breast Cancer Charity Drive to Ocean City. Adding to the fun was the fact that on two wheels, the grating unnervingly yanks your bike from side to side.

Ah, good memories, rs. That’s the bridge my mom would drive across with her eyes closed on the way to Rehobeth Beach.
Re: You first! Scary Bridges!!!!!!!!
The Chesapeake Bay Bridge truly is a scary drive.
Interestingly enough, Mia was white-knuckled every time we crossed the Potomac into Virgina over an everyday, normal bridge that is not that high, or long, and really not scary at all.
She had no problem whatsoever driving across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. I, on the other hand, sitting in the passenger seat, was the white-knuckled one.

Until I was 15, yup. They weren’t both tightly shut. She’d slit her right eye snd turn her head slightly so that eye looked out the windshield.
As soon as I got my permit I took over bridge and tunnel duty on trips.

Glass bridge in China shatters, leaving tourist trapped partway across
Chinese officials have blamed strong winds after a 100-metre-high glass bridge near the city of Longjing shattered and left a tourist stranded.
A statement posted to Longjing City's official Weibo social media account said the Piyan Mountain tourism area, in the country's north-east, had experienced extreme weather on Friday, damaging several panes of the glass deck.
"Our staff rushed to the scene with emergency equipment and successfully transferred the trapped person to safety. The incident caused no casualties," it said.
"The trapped person was taken to hospital for observation. He was discharged as his mental and physical condition were stable."
The post said the Piyan Mountain tourist area had been closed and authorities were investigating whether other amusements at the park presented safety hazards.
According to state news agency Xinhua, 60 glass-deck bridges have been built in China since 2016.
"So many glass deck bridges have been built in recent years and are very popular with tourists. But how can we ensure their safety?" Xinhua quoted a social media user as saying.

If you can't lie to yourself, who can you lie to?
Re: You first! Scary Bridges!!!!!!!!
My mental condition would not be stable.

I hope they gave him an underwear transplant. I know I would need one.Uninformed wrote: ↑Mon May 10, 2021 4:37 am “He was discharged as his mental and physical condition were stable."
What was he doing on the bridge with 90 mph winds? The article said it "had been closed". What does that mean? Did they put up a sign saying "Bridge Closed"? There obviously was no barricade to prevent someone entering the bridge.

I actually enjoyed going over the Dumbarton Bridge. We didn't use it much, but I thought it was wonderful being able to see over the side.
