:( Poor lady. I am not a physician but she may have survived the crash only to succumb to a stroke or heart attack from the stress.Sad. Very sad.

I am disgusted by the hateful, evil, conspiracy crap being piled up on wingnut sites. Please don't post it here on Ms. Fuddy's thread. She was a good, hard working, sincere person who wanted to raise the quality of life for people in the islands. And she did. She deserves much better than the ranting of hate filled lowlifes. We were sometimes on opposing sides, but recognized we were both seeking the best possible outcomes within the restraints of our positions. Recently, she had to defend DOH against a claim of violation of LGBT rights. She wasn't happy about it, but had sworn to uphold the state constitution and did so, reluctantly. Even her opposition recognized why she had taken the position she did. Several LGBT groups have posted their high regard for her, her commitment and her honesty, and now mourn her passing.I live in a very rural area. People keep farming hours - early to bed, up before 5am. Many did not know what had happened until midday. So today as I made my rounds to different places - local health offices, senior centers, child welfare offices - I found people clustered around office computers, reading the story of her loss. Tears, sorrow, shock. People remembering times she had visited, things she had said, programs she developed. Loretta Fuddy was just a nice person, who cared about others, and devoted her life to improving the health of the community. People like her create positive change in a deep, meaningful, personal way, day by day, without glory or fame. And now I think I will go cry a little bit. Again.

This [/break1]yahoo.com/hawaii-survivor-plane-lost-power-then-glided-185711326.html]AP article has a crash survivor's story.Birther scum are commenting there, although not the usual names.Poor Ms. Fuddy. I'm no expert, but I took a basic sea survival course once which taught me something about how much stress the body is under when dumped into the sea just in a basic lifejacket, including the extra load on the heart, especially if one floats with legs down. It's wonderful, and perhaps a little surprising (in a good way, of course), that most passengers survived, but so sad to lose a conscientious public servant and Thoroughly Good Person.Sad especially too for family, friends and colleagues. I hope the birthers don't cause them distress.

This [/break1]yahoo.com/hawaii-survivor-plane-lost-power-then-glided-185711326.html]AP article has a crash survivor's story.so sad. and I believe Keith Yamamoto will face the brunt of the difficulty in this, since he was the last to see her alive, and held her till she faded. to me it sounds like shock and maybe a heart attack / stroke had probably resulted of the crash and having to go into the water. Hopefully the autopsy will reveal much more, but at this point, I could care less. Hawaii lost a wonderful woman who fought for the rights of those in Hawaii to get the medical care they needed.

I can't reveal my source, but I've been told that Alvin Onaka has received numerous emails over the past two days advising him to 'come clean' before he's next. Can you imagine? With the whole department in shock over the loss of an outstanding and wonderful woman. There really is no lower life-form than a birther. I'm so glad I'm able to do something good by contributing something in Loretta Fuddy's memory.
For more information, read it again.

Everyone who knows me thinks of me as a nice Tutu/Grandma-type person but I just have to blurt this out.......Fuck you Birthers & may you all rot in hell. Okay, I feel a little bit better. I am so proud of our President but it really sucks that the election of a brown guy as President of the USA made the nutjobs get so worked up and they now invade our shores in Hawaii via the internet. Mahalo Foggy for the thread that has a contribution from us going to Dr Fuddy's funeral. Let's see what organization her family wants contributions to go to. . I will donate later, Yesterday, I had such a nice reunion with Kapiolani friends who helped bury a colleague at Punchbowl. In spite of the Birther haters we address with our hobby, we sane folks are still doing God's work. RIP to my former NICU friend, a transport nurse who had some scary scary flights like Dr Fuddy & I did.

If her family doesn't respond,I suggest donations to PACT, Parent & Children Together, a non-profit that does a whole hell of a lot for the patients at my clinic. here in Honolulu.

The NTSB will now try to locate and recover the plane[/break1]hawaiinewsnow.com/story/24234545/ntsb-to-try-and-salvage-plane-in-crash-off-molokai?utm_content=bufferf6250&utm_source=buffer&utm_medium=facebook&utm_campaign=Buffer]http://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/story/2423 ... ign=BufferThe agency previously said it seemed unlikely the single-engine plane could be recovered. But NTSB spokesman Eric Weiss says the plane was spotted Friday from a helicopter. He says the single-engine aircraft was about 400 to 500 yards off the north shore of Molokai.Hawaii Health Director Loretta Fuddy was the sole fatality among the nine people aboard last week's flight. Weiss says the NTSB is awaiting autopsy results from Maui County.Weiss says a recovery vessel will leave Honolulu Harbor on Tuesday night and crews will attempt to pull the plane out of the water Thursday.Weiss says investigators are eager to see the engine.

Stand by. Wails about conflicting reports about recoverability quickly followed by a theory that this is actually a pre-positioned similar plane with an engine rigged up to make it look like a real mechanical failure occurred will surface in birtherville in....... 3....2......1.......

Initially everyone said that everyone was accounted for and everyone was okay. So I couldn't understand how that could happen at that time...that she could have passed. 'Cause everyone seemed fine when they got out of the airplane."

BirtherMode=onThe article stated that there was no black box on the airplane. Clearly it was removed prior to the crash in order to prevent it from recording what really happened. If we can find the mechanic who removed the black box we can bust this thing wide open. The regeim is beginning to panic.Any day now.BirtherMode=off

This thread should be for factual and respectful things about Ms. Fuddy and the accident. I think we have plenty of other threads for mocking.
