Memo shows Trump lawyer's six-step plan for Pence to overturn the election
"For completeness":
CNN wrote:A conservative lawyer working with then-President Donald Trump's legal team tried to convince then-Vice President Mike Pence that he could overturn the election results on January 6 when Congress counted the Electoral College votes by throwing out electors from seven states, according to the new book "Peril" from Washington Post journalists Bob Woodward and Robert Costa.

The scheme put forward by controversial lawyer John Eastman was outlined in a two-page memo obtained by the authors for "Peril," and which was subsequently obtained by CNN. The memo, which has not previously been made public, provides new detail showing how Trump and his team tried to persuade Pence to subvert the Constitution and throw out the election results on January 6.

* * *

The Eastman memo laid out a six-step plan for Pence to overturn the election for Trump, which included throwing out the results in seven states because they allegedly had competing electors. In fact, no state had actually put forward an alternate slate of electors -- there were merely Trump allies claiming without any authority to be electors.

Under Eastman's scheme, Pence would have declared Trump the winner with more Electoral College votes after the seven states were thrown out, at 232 votes to 222. Anticipating "howls" from Democrats protesting the overturning of the election, the memo proposes, Pence would instead say that no candidate had reached 270 votes in the Electoral College. That would throw the election to the House of Representatives, where each state would get one vote. Since Republicans controlled 26 state delegations, a majority could vote for Trump to win the election.

* * *

"You really need to listen to John. He's a respected constitutional scholar. Hear him out," Trump said to Pence at that meeting, Woodward and Costa write in "Peril."

From the CNN link:
Eastman told the Washington Post that his memo merely "explored all options that had been proposed." CNN has contacted Eastman for comment through the Claremont Institute, where he is a senior fellow.

My guess is that Zuckerberg would not have had the power to effectively enforce such a directive within his own company without causing an uproar by staff. Any memo to have such "understanding" put into place would have leaked and caused significant damage to the company. Any retaliation by the then T administration for not implementiing the "understanding" would anyhow have been in the next term.

I suspect the conversation happened and Zuckerberg just told Kushner whatever he wanted to hear then promptly ignored any agreement. The Trump clan have shown over and over that their word is worthless, so why would people more powerful than them bother to keep theirs?

Eastman, unsurprisingly, is being roasted for his "memo." (Two pages with no citations is hardly a legal memorandum; charitably, it is an outline.)

Legal, political, and historical experts are discussing all of its flaws. And others are calling for Eastman to be disbarred or prosecuted.

The internal campaign memo was coughed up are part of the discovery proceedings in a Dominion-related defamation case.

It will, of course, be used to show the defendants knew (should have) that the election-fraud claims were "baseless" (i.e., false). Which will help in proving actual malice.

How Trump used goats to cut millions of dollars off his local property taxes, and paid just $ 700 last year
Warren Rojas | Published on 09/20/2021 at 3:04 p.m. | Updated 09/20/2021 at 3:06 p.m.

Donald Trump has always found ways to cut his business costs, including how much he pays in taxes.
He used a tax maneuver with the help of goats to save millions in property taxes in Bedminster.
Trump has for at least 17 years now claimed the lucrative tax break popular among estate holders there.

Former President Donald Trump paid just $ 700 in property taxes last year for the 119-acre portion of his Bedminster, New Jersey golf club that's registered as a working farm.

The trick? Trump, who is fighting to keep his personal tax returns hidden from congressional investigators , occasionally invites goats to chow down on the chunk of the Garden State he scooped up in 2002.

The roaming ruminants allow the twice- impeached former president to claim New Jersey's farmland assessment reduction - a tax-shaving strategy that's likely saved the businessman-turned-politician more than $ 3 million since the club opened in 2004.

Local tax records dating back to 2017 show that Trump's golf club is split in two for tax purposes: the 244-acre members-only golf course , and the goat-tended , 119-acre farm.

Well that's...something.

option c.
VP Pence opens the ballots, determines on his own which is valid, asserting
that the authority to make that determination under the 12th Amendment,
and the Adams and Jefferson precedents, is his alone (anything in the
Electoral Count Act to the contrary is therefore unconstitutional).
option d.
VP Pence determines that the ongoing election challenges must conclude
before ballots can be counted, and adjourns the joint session of Congress,
determining that the time restrictions in the Electoral County Act are
contrary to his authority under the 12th Amendment and therefore void.
Taking the cue, state legislatures convene, order a comprehensive
audit/investigation of the election returns in their states, and then determine
whether the slate of electors initially certified is valid, or whether the
alternative slate of electors should be certified by the legislature, exercise
authority it has directly from Article II and also from 3 U.S.C. § 2, which
provides:
Stolen with a capital 'S' no less.
IV. BOLD, Certainly. But this Election was Stolen by a strategic Democrat
plan to systematically flout existing election laws for partisan
advantage; we’re no longer playing by Queensbury Rules, therefore.

The main thing here is that VP Pence should exercise his 12th Amendment authority
without asking for permission – either from a vote of the joint session or from the
Court. Let the other side challenge his actions in court,
where Tribe (who in 2001
conceded the President of the Senate might be in charge of counting the votes) and
others who would press a lawsuit would have their past position -- that these are nonjusticiable political questions – thrown back at them, to get the lawsuit dismissed. The
fact is that the Constitution assigns this power to the Vice President as the ultimate
arbiter. We should take all of our actions with that in mind.

He cheats others in so many ways you'd think he would accept being cheated out of the presidency from fraud. It's just playing his game by his rules. He's like a little child who pouts because somebody cheated better than he did.

Of course, nobody cheated the election, but it is an interesting illustration. Mr. Tough Guy turns into a pouting child when the other gang beats down his gang.

Former President Donald Trump has filed a lawsuit against The New York Times, three of its reporters, and his niece—claiming they hatched an “insidious plot” to obtain his private records for a story about his tax history.

The lawsuit, which was filed Tuesday in Dutchess County, New York, alleges that the newspaper convinced Mary Trump to “smuggle records out of her attorney’s office and turn them over to The Times” despite her having signed a confidentiality agreement. The suit demands damages “in an amount to be determined at trial, but believed to be no less than One Hundred Million Dollars” from both Mary Trump and the Times.
