You just know Obly bought tickets.
A Laguna Hills event center canceled plans to host an “America First” rally on July 17 after learning the speakers were slated to be two of the most controversial Republicans in Congress: Reps. Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene.

“We just want to stay clear of that,” Javad Mirtavoosi, general manager of Pacific Hills Banquet & Event Center, said by phone Friday.

Greene’s campaign disputed that account of how the cancellation transpired. And they’re still selling tickets for a rally, though they’re still trying to find an Orange County venue for the same day.

According to multiple people involved in this investigation, the money trail has been the driving factor. From the Venmo and Cash App receipts to Greenberg and Ellicott's American Express card to the Seminole County consulting contracts and crypto exchanges. The $ is telling.

I’m told people close to Gaetz are bracing for bad news related to the Greenberg case.

Lordy, please let DeSantis get caught up in this too.

The charges Greenberg pleaded to carry 12 years to life, he is going to roll over on anyone he can for sure with everything he's got.

Is it legal for a campaign to pay for the legal defense of the candidate in a criminal matter? If it is, it shouldn't be.

The threshold for an expenditure being "related to" the campaign is very low. And a candidate's reputation is essentially always in play.

Besides, it is ultimately speculation as to why this particular attorney was hired; Gaetz presently isn't facing any charges.

Which begs the question of "why?"

Is this the minimum retainer amount this high-profile lawyer requires? Is Gaetz retaining him to prevent someone else from retaining him (I know this happens in civil litigation. I'm not sure about criminal)? Consultation? A signal to prosecution that he's going to fight hard?

Your hunch about the guy being conflicted out from representing other defendants is probably correct. If he was hiring this guy for real? Well, Dick DeGuerin would start by taking your ranch and move on from there. Matty’s Daddy probably has Matty’s money in trusts so Goofball can’t squander it. Time will tell.

It’s unclear to me whether the $25 K was for Gates personally or the campaign. Maybe I missed something, but I thought the campaign hired the lawyer.

Perhaps the people who are getting the money are the same ones who he thinks may be able to corroborate anything Greenberg has to say. He's too dumb to understand that won't help him when the corroborating evidence are things like Venmo transactions and such.
There's a lot of things that need to change. One specifically? Police brutality.
