I'm thinking that his 'idea' is that they get him in as Speaker then impeach and remove Biden and Harris. At minimum, he said it because he wants Trump to see how much he can suck up.

Interesting trivia on the US Code. While the requirements for Speaker are not there (thus leaving it up to the House rules per the Constitution), it mentions on the succession that the Speaker becomes acting President upon their resignation of the speakership and the representative seat. At least when they wrote that law, they anticipated that the Speaker would be rep.

I can see a plausible argument that CONGRESS and not just the house would have to pass a law outlining the parameters of the office for a non-elected, non-voting speaker. Pay, staff, term, office space. Etc.

Sooner than later, he will blow up the House with threats and insults and bring it to total chaos.

Eventually, after being there a while, he will know just enough to hurt his enemies and do things that are instantly recognizable as being stupid and evil. Another job with enormous power, and he will seek only to abuse people and self-aggrandize on every occasion.

In reading the document on the 116th Congress rules, they appear to agree. Those who are not a Representative or Senator are not protected.
