OK, we are where we are. Who's your choice?

It appears Bernard doesn't have a middle name. People were guessing maybe because of where his family is from. Spent a few minutes looking... if anybody finds it please let us know. Seems like Tulsi Gabbard doesn't have a middle name either.

I voted for Bernie in the primary in 2016 but proudly voted for Clinton in the general. I like Bernie's ideas, but, the more I learned about him, the more I saw him on my TV, the less I liked him as a person and if I don't like you as a person, I'm going to have a hard time trusting you to look out for me.

That's just my arrogant opinion.

Obviously this straw poll isn't meant to be scientific. But I suspect the average user here isn't Sander's target demographic, i.e., Sanders did well on Super Tuesday with people:

* Aged 44 and under;
* "Very liberal";
* With a favorable view of socialism;
* Supporting changing to a single government health plan;
* Preferring a candidate with similar views on the issues (as opposed to winning the general election);
* Identifying as Hispanic/Latino.

I voted for Biden. I voted for Bernie, also, in the 2016 primary, also happily voted for Clinton, but Bernie has rubbed me the wrong way for a while, and I don't think he should have run this time. Of course, I also don't think Biden should have run. Too old, as I said earlier on another thread.

I'm very familiar with Bernie as I listened to him for years on the Thom Hartmann show and liked a lot of what I heard from him. I also like socialism. No system is perfect, but capitalism is eating the world alive right now. We're in the cancer stage of it.

If Biden is in front by March 29, I’ll vote for him in the primary to avoid drama in the convention. Although that might be moot since he’ll probably underperform. All 5 political parties here have cast Obama as the root of all evil.

so in one corner we have a 78 year-old man in risky health who has good political ideas, poor political instincts, supporters who would crawl over glass to vote for him, and opponents who would craw across glass to keep from having to vote for him. and in the other corner we have a 77 year old man whose comical errors are the most memorable moments of his barely deliverable speeches, who's already promised not to serve a second term (and who may sleep thru his first!)—a man whose whole campaign seems to rest on the question "wouldn't it be great if a great guy like me was president?"

and then there's tulsi gabbard

Politics has morphed into entertainment and some politicians have successfully leveraged that.
Other politicians are somewhat boring.
I generally prefer the second group.

I know. What I don't understand is where are you in a US primary voting state or territory that all 5 political parties cast Obama as the root of all evil?

I voted Biden in this poll because I don't know who "Other" could possibly be.

But I feel sick about it. Addie quoted this from Paul Waldman in the Washington Post:
Those who are on the campaign trail will tell you that he is showing his age — he starts sentences then can’t find his way out of them, he’s surly when challenged, and he says cringeworthy things on a daily basis. His debate performances have ranged from barely acceptable to abysmal.
Add to that, he has a long history of very poor judgment, on everything from crime legislation to supporting the invasion and occupation of Iraq, the worst foreign policy mistake in US history.

They say he's "likable" but I don't like him, and I definitely don't trust him. He's everything wrong with the Democratic Party, imho.

I hope I'm wrong about him. I hope he wins over Sanders and then Trump, because I don't see any viable options. But this country is in deep, deep trouble, and I would like to think we could find a leader whose best attribute was something better and more important than "well, he's likable anyway."

I'm aghast. I'm horrified. I'm scared. I'm angry. :madguy:

I'm hoping Biden picks Kamala Harris as his Veep, that he turns to her a lot when he makes decisions, and that he surrounds himself with Obama Apparatchik who were, generally, more liberal than Obama was.

That's what I'm hoping.

And I wouldn't mind at all if Kamala Harris succeeded Joe for eight (8) years. :pray:

I'll take "Will stand in the rain for 6 hours to vote for Him because the GOP has slashed the Polling stations in their District" over "will crawl over broken glass to not vote for him because its raining."

Nobody wants to throw in for Tulsi? Even "Other"/Jimmy down the hall has a vote.

All that may be true, but I trust his advisers and am hopeful about his cabinet choices. To me, the current maladministration, along with Reagan's, has shown how important those positions and departments are. Exhibit 1: Ryan Zinke. Exhibit 2. Betsy DeVos. Exhibit 3-999. A whole lot of other cabinet and department heads. Exhibit A. COVID-19. I think a Biden administration would have been in front and wouldn't be telling people, hey, it's okay to go to work and sneeze on everyone, and, here's your protective 'flu shot against it.

Kamala was run off early by trump’s trolls. They spread rumors about Kamala and Willie Brown and, I think, were ramping up to go after her in a big way.
