Rep. Mike Nearman, who allowed violent demonstrators into Oregon Capitol, issues statement with no contrition, lashes out at others
https://www.oregonlive.com/politics/202 ... ium=social
Crocodile tears for the troubles Nearman and his family have had to endure. Liberal elected officials never get that treatment from RW citizens evah. Protesters were clearly visible through the door. He shouldn't have "merely exited" without also securing the door as he left.

As for the "union riot" of 2015, like the massacre of Bowling Green, it is a clear example of Leftist violence and terrorism that cannot be tolerated ever again.

As law enforcement braces for more violence, state Capitols come into focus
More than a dozen flyers are circulating online advertising pro-Trump rallies at state Capitols, according to social media analysis by NBC News.

And while significant preparations have been put in place around the U.S. Capitol, there is growing concern that statehouses around the country will be targeted, many of which have already been the scene of armed protests, arrests and violence.

More than a dozen flyers are circulating online advertising pro-Trump rallies at state Capitols, according to social media analysis by NBC News. “Freedom is a right,” one popular flyer reads; “Refuse to be silenced,” says another.

As part of its response to an increase in online activity and organization efforts that could lead to further violence, Facebook has been tracking many of these fliers across alternative sites popular with militia groups and QAnon followers and pre-emptively blocking them, according to a spokesperson who asked not to be named for safety concerns.

:snippity:

Social media platforms have taken unprecedented steps in recent days to keep their sites clear of content that might incite further violence — including the suspension of President Donald Trump’s Twitter and Facebook accounts— but threats of violence at upcoming events persist online. Now mostly relegated to less popular and alternative apps, the events are more difficult for other extremists to find but also for law enforcement and researchers to track.

Bomb Threat Forces Evacuation of Virginia High Court

https://www.courthousenews.com/bomb-thr ... igh-court/
Authorities sent a text message Friday afternoon stating the Virginia Supreme Court is being evacuated, three days before a gun-rights rally draws thousands to the state capital.

The historic building located across the street from the state Capitol building was evacuated around 1:30 p.m. Eastern time and police are on the scene investigating a bomb threat, according to local news reports.

The threat comes as tensions in Virginia’s capital city are already high following last week’s U.S. Capitol riots, as thousands of Second Amendment advocates are set to drive through Richmond for a gun-rights group’s Lobby Day event on Monday.

Some of those arrested for participating in the Washington attack were seen at last year’s Virginia rally.

Oklahoma National Guard Deploying To Washington And Oklahoma City To Defend Capitols

https://www.publicradiotulsa.org/post/o ... s#stream/0
Brig. Gen. Thomas H. Mancino, assistant adjutant general for the Oklahoma Army National Guard, said Friday approximately 340 soldiers and airmen are en route to Washington to support the U.S. Secret Service in protecting President-elect Joe Biden's inauguration. He said the Guard has deployed for presidential inaugurations before, but not in this manner or at this scale.

"Usually, we send a handful of experts, usually from our weapons of mass destruction unit, that are experts in, let's say, nuclear, biological or chemical warfare," Mancino said. "And they'll go to lend their expertise to different inaugural events. This is the first, to my knowledge, of a largescale deployment to an inauguration."

"It's a bittersweet moment. I'm obviously very proud of the men and women of the Oklahoma Army and Air National Guard that have volunteered to fulfill this role, but it's also a little bit disappointing that they need to be there in the first place," Mancino said.

"We've been very consistent in Oklahoma in the message from the adjutant general, Maj. Gen. Michael Thompson, that we completely support citizens' rights to their First Amendment freedoms of assembly and speech. But when those cross over into violence against people and property, then the Guard will step in."

I think they are deploying from around the country. There are about 1,000 PA troops, which didn't surprise me too much as they are close.

Kentucky State Capitol grounds to close Sunday

https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/live-up ... itter_abcn
The Kentucky State Capitol grounds will be closed on Sunday, amid reports of threats against state capitols in the coming days, Gov. Andy Beshear announced Friday.

“Our commitment is that what happened at the U.S. Capitol will not happen here,” Beshear said in a statement.

There will be an increased law enforcement presence at the state Capitol for the next several days, including support from the Kentucky National Guard, and areas near the Capitol will be closed on Sunday, the governor said.

There are no gatherings or rallies planned in the coming days, he noted.

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan declares state of emergency ahead of inauguration

https://www.fox5dc.com/news/maryland-go ... auguration
Hogan has also asked the White House for a Presidential Disaster Declaration to reimburse state and local governments in Maryland for costs incurred by their response to last week’s insurrection at the Capitol, as well as support to federal partners and D.C. for the days leading up to, and including, the inaugural ceremonies.

"The State of Maryland will continue to do everything we possibly can to secure our nation’s capital and to ensure the peaceful transition of power," said Governor Hogan. "We did not hesitate to provide critical support during the January 6 insurrection, and will continue to work closely with allied agencies, local governments, and our federal partners to support the Inaugural Ceremonies."

With the state of emergency declaration, Governor Hogan has authorized the Maryland Emergency Management Agency and all other appropriate state authorities to deploy and coordinate available resources in support of local jurisdictions and the citizens of Maryland, and to activate their emergency preparedness plans. It also allows Maryland to receive assistance from other states as part of the Emergency Management Assistance Compact.

On Jan. 11, Governor Hogan joined D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser and Virginia Governor Ralph Northam in advising residents not to come into Washington, D.C. for the inauguration and to instead participate virtually.
