Nah. If Texas wants to fix the problem they will have to throw $$$ at it. This means higher electric and gas rates and probably much higher rates initially. Whomever is in charge will be blamed. If they don't fix it there will be finger pointing because of inaction. It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. I wouldn't want to be in charge of that mess. They can always blame Obama, I suppose.

We need this kind of thing in Florida, not for voter registration, but for getting people to the place where they can get an ID that will allow them to vote. In 2010 due to the scary black man having been elected, the Republican legislature in Florida rewrote all the laws regarding voter registration. One thing they did is cancel every non-driver license State ID, which is the only thing other than a driver's license that allows you to vote. Then, they closed every single DMV, which is the only place you can get a state issued id that allows you to vote. Then, they constructed new DMV's and placed them all in every county as far as possible from any bus line. Meaning, if you do not drive, your ID card that identifies you for voting purposes was no longer valid, and unless you get a ride to the DMV there is no bus or other public transportation that will get you within reasonable walking distance to the only places you can do to get your ID card. Other than ME, I don't know of anyone else that is screaming about this. This is pretty much WHY Florida is no longer a purple state. Because huge numbers of people can't even get to the only place where they can get a valid ID card that will allow them to vote.

We need a huge push in Florida to drive people to the DMV's where they can get a state issued ID card that will allow them to vote.
There's a lot of things that need to change. One specifically? Police brutality.

The only ad Abbott would have to run. I just don't see Beto winning on Government knocking at your door demanding your guns. Because that's how the republicans will run it...

I know this may be hard to believe but there are millions of Texans who live near the big cities who are sick of the crime and the shootings. And there are millions more who own guns who don't think every moron should have an AR-15. And there are millions who hate Greg Abbott.

Will it be enough for Beto to win? Maybe not. But Abbott's last two opponents basically didn't campaign. Beto will campaign and he's got the name recognition. So, he may not win, but he will mount a battle.

It’s the first time Texas Dems have had a known candidate for Governor in forever. Assuming he gets the nomination. It will be a tough race and the monster who occupies the office will wage a very dirty campaign.

Beto’s Presidential campaign was a disaster but his Senate campaign against Cancun Cruz was not. Beto is very intelligent, well educated and will raise tons of money. Voter suppression laws will make the race even more difficult. It’s even difficult for well off white folks to vote now. Deplorable.

Already getting a lot of Beto posts on various social media, emails and texts. May have to opt out if these become too numerous. ;)
