Re: CPAC Conference 2021
She was poorly served by CPAC in allowing her to do the anthem without accompaniment. It's tough enough when you are young, have no real professional experience, and are shot through with nerves. The least they could have done for her was run a backing track. Not saying she would have nailed it, bu...

The View From Maybelot
*sigh* We were supposed to close today yesterday, but the lawyer had something come up. Closing is now scheduled for Monday. The current owners aren’t scheduled to close on their new place until the fourth, so they probably can’t be out by then anyway. Couple of days is no big deal in the grand sche...

Derry Girls, on Netflix, for the second time. It’s set in Derry, Northern Ireland in the 1990s. It’s one of those fast-paced shows where there is so much going on, and even though they’re speaking English it’s sometimes hard (for me, at least) to understand because of the accents and colloquialisms....

Re: New York State Investigations of Trump and Related
Now that New York has his tax and financial records, Trump may have to decide whether to take a plea deal to keep them secret or go to trial which would make them public records and he still might go to jail. Decisions, decisions. I can't see the State going for that. The government is as entitled ...

Thanks, Foggy. I've really missed the Fogbow. I also sent you a donation. I can't remember where the "Report Problems" thread used to be. I have a problem to report. After struggling to get to the forum for days with Chrome, I finally tried Firefox on my Linux desktop. That worked, but I ...

Re: Virtual Drunk Tank
If you are too intoxicated to operate a motor vehicle in your state, your posts should go here until you sober up. Rules: No puking on your fellow drunks. Put your empties in the trash. Don't piss on or take photos of people who are passed out. So there's more rules in the Virtual Drunk Tank than t...

How many JAGs does the Coast Guard have? Because I live close to Seattle, I've worked with a couple of people who were in the Coast Guard. Not many. When I was in there were between 50 and 75 (I don't know the exact number, and I retired in 2007, so it may be different now). Most were in DC and Ala...

My sister had some guys from the Virginia Department of Forestry out at her place a couple years ago. We walked around their property and they provided a lot of insight about what they saw in terms of the health of their forest (their property is planted mostly with loblolly pine). Anyhoo, as we wal...

I joined The Fogbow (2012 maybe?) I'm a retired Coast Guard JAG, currently working for another attorney doing criminal appeals in the military appellate system, and desperately trying to retire from that. I was out, but then COVID hit and he got really busy and asked me to come back. We have a cabin...

High of 73 yesterday. Had jury duty call at 8:30 yesterday morning and I walked the 2 long blocks from my studio in a tank top. We still have no water. Today marks one week. "Hopefully, it will be restored by the weekend" the mayor says. How does that work -- with no water? I mean, I have...

Home Renovision on Youtube. It’s all DIY. Jeff Thorman is a renovation contractor from Ottawa. He shows you how to do stuff right and has lots of really good tips.
He also has live chats where people text in questions. Those are long and boring.
