Re: New Diseases - Coronavirus

For most Florida hotel guests, it’s past checkout time. But not for DeSantis’ top donor Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has pointed the finger at New Yorkers for the spread of the new coronavirus in the state and required that visitors to Florida coming from New York and surrounding states be screened an...

Re: President* Trump - *Impeached

Those folks at Forbes have been doing a lot of assuming for a lot of years. We know that Trump was sending them phony financial documents for years. It seems even now they are assuming he owns x amount of real estate free and clear of debt. And we don't really know the extent of the debt (or who own...

Re: On a Personal Level--Coronavirus COVID-19 Cancellations, etc.

In one of the threads, crafts maybe, it shows how to make one out of a bandana and two ponytail holders. You could also use a scrap of cotton woven fabric. I’ve tried it and it works pretty well. I’m sure it would be easy enough to find on YouTube. Yeah, that's a good one. I think even I could do t...

Re: Roy Moore - FORMER AL Supreme Court Chief Justice

Yeah, I figured that Roy was coming in for the big Konstitshunal Challenge! No way in hell he's going to be able to represent that guy in a state criminal matter if he isn't already licensed there. And I am guessing that the good people of Louisiana, despite their tendency to be right wingers, are m...

Re: Coronavirus Cancellations & Postponements / Travel & Events COVID-19

I have mentally resolved myself to conclude we will be on lockdown until the end of May. I'm not even considering festivals, concerts, etc., just more of isolation for two more months. Maybe that's optimistic.

Re: Roy Moore - FORMER AL Supreme Court Chief Justice

Roy Moore doesn't even represent himself and his hideous wife in their own cases. Is Roy Moore licensed in LA? If he goes to federal court, he will have to apply pro hac vice. Then he will need local counsel to sponsor him and to be responsible for Roy's inappropriate filings. Good luck.

I used to have a great recipe for sesame noodles made with peanut butter, garlic, red wine vinegar, soy sauce etc. But I lost it. I roasted a chicken on Sunday so I thought sesame noodles with shredded chicken would be a great pantry dish. I had some tahini and most online recipes called for that (w...

Re: New Diseases - Coronavirus

I have it on good authority that some businesses that grow and distribute produce have decided to let crops die in the field. The calculation is that it's "expensive" to get these crops fully grown and harvested. Since the restaurant demand is down, they've crunched the numbers and decided to "cut ...

No, I don't think that's "prudent" when people are hoarding food (and then buying take-out because it's so difficult to use the food they've hoarded by actually, you know, cooking and eating it). When folks hoard food and the grocery store cases and shelves are empty, that means their neighbors can'...

Hard to get the feeling of "fellowship" in your car. This is all about having the collection plate passed around. I guess the "flock" can't be trusted to tithe during an economic catastrophe and via a livestream.
