Re: President Trump

Because Trump never knows when he'll want to stop at a fast food joint. He's learned long ago that they don't take rubber checks.

Sanders is good for reminding us of what we should be reaching for, but he needs to find a do-able way to accomplish it.

Re: They're Nutz - And They Hold Local Office

There is a strong independent streak in Oregon. We have our share of people who are neither square nor round pegs, but bent sticks that cannot be pigeon holed well. But they're all liberals! Just ask anyone from somewhere other than California or Washington. I'll admit two things: 1) I prefer to pu...

Re: They're Nutz - And They Hold Local Office

Nothing new. I lived in a small dysfunctional town in Oregon where the rabble managed to get one of their own elected in one of those special elections where nobody cares or votes. It took a recall to get rid of the mayor and two of his cronies on the council. I've noticed that many times in small t...

All I know is that our current president has lost his marbles. That happens at different ages for different people. Trump has no management or leadership skills, but I don't think he has ever had any.

A new high or is it low for Rharon. Somehow I just don't think a crank call from a CT crank is an important CPS issue for someone in TN, despite what our breathless brainless girl reporter seems to think. Imagine that!

Not high enough since he isn't dead.
Well, given that criteria; too high seems more appropriate.

Well screw the republicans. The majority of our population would be in favor of banning assault weapons. Just because the republicans wouldn't like it is no reason not to do it.

I wouldn't think anyone would be "ordered" onto public insurance. Nobody is "ordered" onto Social Security when they retire either. Take your entitlement or leave it. No government agent will show up at your door and threaten to arrest you. BTW, nobody is ordered onto Medicare either. Take it or lea...

One day chatting with a few Jewish friends, all women, the topic of these type of misogynistic cultural structures came up... and apparently the Semitic groups had (and in some cases still have) very similar traditions. When I worked for MCSO they always called in the plate as the deputy was pulling the car over. Dispatch would relay anything significant about the license of the owner. Not that the DL always matched the person who owned the car. Too many times the owner was listed as having a suspended license.

Not sure Medicare For All would change that dynamic.
Two things to note about Medicare: 1) If the procedure is pre-approved, they will pay for it. 2) They do pay. Their usual disputes are with the healthcare provider and the patient isn't hounded for money in the meantime.
