Re: Fogbow Arts and Crafts Club

My friend in NOLA sent this elastic to me. On the left is the full roll, on the right after 300 masks. Fortunately, she sent 4 rolls of it.

384 is such an odd number to come up twice, but here are 384 for today. My non-sewing sister in law wants to help so she ties the elastic. This batch is going to the county jail and the state prison I think.

Re: Malaria Drugs, Antibiotics and Other COVID19 "Treatments"

Just talked to my friend who is on chlor....quine for her scleroderma and she is on the verge of panic. Her usual 90 day supply has been cut down to a 7 day supply, so not only is she in danger of not getting her meds, she's also forced to leave the house weekly to pick it up. 2 of the people she kn...

Re: New Diseases - Coronavirus

I am reminded of how CPR always occupies a large part of any first aid course despite most first aid issues requiring much simpler care and – critically – CPR is almost always unsuccessful. The CDC doesn't agree with you. 1. CPR Saves Lives. Currently, about 9 in 10 people who have cardiac arrest o...

Re: New Diseases - Coronavirus

The information coming out about the nature of the respiratory failure in Covid-19 is worrying (see articles linked above by Danraft and others). I think these are the key points: Covid-19 can lead to very low blood oxygen levels which usually (for non-Covid-19 conditions) indicate a need for mecha...

The dollar stores are a great place to find pasta and rice, and usually tp and cleaning supplies. People are buying everything at the grocery so they only have to make one order or one trip to one store. Family Dollar and Dollar General shoppers have been filling out their meals with carbs forever.

Re: Fogbow Arts and Crafts Club

The sides are never going to lie correctly because of the width of the sides. They should be no more than 3" max. Basically the same distance as your ear where it connects to your face. And the width of the mask across your face should stop 1/2 to 1" in front of your ears.

No worries, Sugar. It’s nice that you’re making masks.

Re: Fogbow Arts and Crafts Club

The conversation about sewing machines on another thread caught my eye. I am not a sewer. The last time I sewed was in 8th grade home ec (about 1967). However, that did not stop me from buying a sewing machine in the early '80s, after we bought our house. If I remember right, it was a Sears. I seem...

Re: Fogbow Arts and Crafts Club

I'm not sure why everyone is so hell bent on using filters on non-medical mask applications anyway. The home sewn masks are NOT intended for use anywhere near someone who has tested positive. They are to protect other people from you, not to protect you from other people. It's really pretty easy. P...

Never used a Janome - I’m a Bernina girl. My $5,000 Bernina crapped out — nothing fatal — it just needs servicing, but that’ll have to wait. So I turned to my $175 Brother, and other than getting used to where things are, it’s doing a good job. I’m out at the cabin now where I have another Bernina ...

And that wasn't directed specifically at you MN. Just a general rant about all the shit they're putting in people's lungs trying to find the "perfect" filter. To me, using stuff like furnace filters is akin to giving people untested drugs.

Re: Fogbow Arts and Crafts Club

My niece, who works in an emergency vet clinic, posted a video of a doctor talking about making your own face mask. It's similar to what we've seen, but the part I found interesting was that she used material from a furnace filter as a barrier insert. So I looked and found an article from the New Y...

Holy fuck! What is going on around here? Another shooting just now, the fifth, and they were shooting at the ambulance when it pulled up for the first victim.

They just called for the coroner to respond to the child shooting. :crying: I'm sure the gun just "went off."

Couldn't sleep (again) so I'm up listening to the scanner (and sewing more masks) and within the last hour, one homicide (shooting), two gunshot wound victims (different shootings) showed up at the hospital, and now they are working an accidental shooting involving a child.
