Re: have you received your vaccine yet?
I just scheduled my first jab for next Tuesday. Colorado opened my age tier last Friday. I used an online tools that aggregates pharmacies with available slots and it popped up an early morning appointment at a nearby Walmart.

Re: Derek Chauvin trial: The murder of George Floyd
I will be in the jury pool for the trial of Letecia Stauch, who is charged with the murder of her stepson Gannon Stauch in early 2020. So far, her trial has been delayed by the pandemic, time spent being evaluated for whether she is competent to assist in her trial, an escape attempt, and her succes...

Well, at least the judge didn't say "She obviously needs a keeper as much as he does."

Re: Coronavirus: Vaccines
With the ramping up of the vaccination programs across the nation I am starting to feel like I am living in what we used to quaintly describe as a first world nation again.

Rites of passage are pretty much few and far between by the time one reaches my age. Despite this, I had a rite of passage today: I applied for Medicare using the online system. I was ridiculously anxious about the process, so my partner sat and watched and made sure I didn't fat finger anything. Si...

Seems real. Trump sends legal notice to GOP to stop using his name https://www.politico.com/newsletters/playbook/2021/03/06/scoop-trump-sends-legal-notice-to-gop-to-stop-using-his-name-492021 We reported yesterday that Trump was furious that his name has been bandied about by organizations that hel...

Re: Evolving Cultural Viewpoints
I read Cherry Ames. It made me decide to become a nurse, but I backed out once I was accepted into a nursing school. I loved the books, but I'm glad I decided before I started down that path that it really wasn't what I wanted to be. Sue Barton fan here, but never had any desire to be a nurse, or a...

Apart, I may be visiting a bit less these days cause I found the keys to the TARDIS. I am using an editor from a former life. From when mainframe computers (IBM comes to mind) had an XEDIT editor. Win3.1, Win95, WinME etc had a third party character mode lookalike that I used until the various comp...

Because the current timeline isn't fucking cyberpunk enough, Nevada bill would allow tech companies to create local governments. https://apnews.com/article/legislature-legislation-local-governments-nevada-economy-2fa79128a7bf41073c1e9102e8a0e5f0 Planned legislation to establish new business areas i...

Re: Parler, the Mercers' personal playground?
Why anyone would trust their personal information to Parler at this point is beyond me. You would think they would be sufficiently paranoid not to want to trust their personal information to any site. And I doubt that most of these people could find the dark web if one gave them detailed instruction...

I do know I am grateful that I never started, despite both parents being heavy smokers. My partner smoked for years and I don't know when he quit for good. I do know that I am fairly certain that his last ten years, I may have seen him with a cigarette once. He stopped smoking in our house and in ou...

This may sound sacrilegious, but there are plenty of illustrators out there who can emulate his style of drawing. A little judicious revision of the offending illustrations might eliminate the (I think, unintentional) racism. This may sound sacrilegious, but it seems to me that it would be preferab...

I supposed I could call myself an aspiring mixed media artist and have lived in Colorado for over three decades. We used to have horses, but when the last one went on to his reward we sold our country acreage and downsized to a nearby suburb. I do agility with our two dogs: a boisterous Boston Terri...
