... you can walk out forever and never get deeper than your chest, so "swimming" is a relative term. I learned to sail a small boat in water like that, we would intentionally dump the boat and have to get it righted and sailing again, but you could stand on the bottom of the sound and be ...

Kinda in my backyard...enjoy the city, but don't venture out in the the rural areas... And by that I mean anywhere where there isn't street lights... Yeah, we're in a massive beachfront place, in a smallish but nice little condo, 4th floor but the elevator works. There are six huge buildings, many ...

Not a lot to say except I support the protesters and I deplore the actions of USC, where I attended law school.

How long are the poles that stick into the sand? I could see these easily flying away. That's what the bag is for. The bag it comes with is permanently attached to the middle of the sail. When you get both ends of the pole pushed down in the sand, you turn the bag inside out, fill it with sand (ple...

Yeah, you just have to keep it 90° to the wind. If'n the wind shifts, you gotta shift the umbrella. Which takes about 2 seconds. Very easy. If there's no wind ... I don't think we have ever been to the beach with no wind. On the ocean, there's always wind. That would present a problem, though.

Enjoy Savannah! We love it there :lovestruck: I am enjoying it, even though it's not quite warm enough for me. Last year - not knowing that I would never make it to the beach all summer - I bought a Shibumi umbrella mini (fits two people). Ol' Wifehorn and Numbah One Son took it to the beach withou...

The ocean temp around your location is around 65-67 Fahrenheit. Um... oh boo-hoo. The closest large body to me (Lake Michigan) is 47. The air temp is 51 but I'm told it will go up this weekend, and then down. No, I done told you already - I'm a tropical plant. I need heat, and light. If I spent 10 ...

Savannah was founded in 1733 by James Oglethorpe and 120 of his homies. We saw all 22 squares yesterday. Ol' Wifehorn always wanted to tour the city. There's a ton of history in those almost 300 years. We went in a gorgeous Catholic basilica. Not quite as big as Duke Chapel, but still very impressiv...

The water is too damn cold, with surf 8 inches high. No swimming, no boogie boarding, and so today we shall visit Lincoln's 1864 Christmas present from General Sherman.

So we're going to the actual beach for sun, sand, and surf, but we're not joining ol' Wifehorn's friends until dinnertime, because neither of the ladies want to be seen by the other one wearing a bathing suit. Such is the silliness of the North American Earthlings in their native environment. Y'all ...

What with all my surgeries and other hospitalizations last year, it turned out to be the first year since 1976 that I didn't get to swim in the ocean even once (that summer of '76 I spent at Cornell University, and did a lot of swimming in abandoned rock quarries, but not any ocean swimming). This s...

Oh, ouchy. That's a terrible thing for a judge to say about a lawyer in court. That means "I don't believe a word you're saying." Might as well call him a liar.Merchan, sharply: "Mr. Blanche, you are losing all credibility."

Happy Earth Day, peeps. The five most abundant elements in the crust of the planet are oxygen, silicon, aluminum, iron, and calcium. In seawater, the top 5 are hydrogen, oxygen, sodium, chlorine, and magnesium.

Yeah, but the worst thing about these idiots is that they were so monomaniacal about their stupid beliefs that it seriously warped them. They ended up deciding that hundreds and hundreds of judges, including the Supremes, were all corrupt and evil. They decided that both houses of Congress and all 5...

State of New York vs Trump, et al - the civil fraud case against the Trump Organization
Tomorrow is the day we learn more about this bond. :waiting: I suspect Trump’s attorneys will not have an expert in NY bond practice, so Ms. James might have the only expert in the field. Trump’s lawyers will doubtless bring on some functionary of the trust company to tell the judge how solid the bo...
