Up Here in Bathysphere (or wherever it is)
I approve of the people singing loud, even if off key. It's a about singing the hymn together, not a musical performance.

We don't know our own ancient history, but we do know that for whatever reason, music is an important part of being human. When we finally reach the stars, if we ever do, our music will be something we can really be proud of. Except for the songs that result in an interstellar war in retaliation fo...

Birds are so rude. They don't sit still long enough to for me to grab my camera and zoom in to get a good shot from a distance.
There are times they do, but I also have ended up with lots of blurry shots of the tail feather tips.

Also - cast iron - OMG - perfection (just be super careful setting it on the stove top). That's good to know if I ever thought about moving to induction (which would also require a move from being a renter). I like using cast iron on some things. After you mentioned that, I did some checking on wok...

My question is - Who was the first guy to blow through a hollow stick, make a sound, and amaze the shit out of everyone standing around? My vote would go towards some Australian about 40 or 50 thousand years ago. But I suppose a case could be made that it was an African before that. https://youtu.b...

Here is another one from the same group. It has a shawm, what I think is a buisine, and a percussionist with wood and bells. The buisine does not look much different from a Roman Tuba, which would make sense.

My question is - Who was the first guy to blow through a hollow stick, make a sound, and amaze the shit out of everyone standing around? We didn't cover that in my college music history classes. It's probably because nobody knows. Our knowledge of certain musical things way back in early early anti...

Talk about SCA!!! I loved the 'proto-trombone' - what's it actually called? And what are those reeded instruments? Surely not Oboes - (no valves, just finger holes) but maybe? I take it that thing on screen right is a drum? (JK) I think it's called a sackbut . The brass instrument is a slide trumpe...

I still can't see Avenatti's posts so, apparently. Elon's latest change has not reached me yet. I'm not sad.

If people want my opinion on the thing posted, honestly I have no idea about it. Anything I would say about what's going on would be a blind guess. So I would prefer not to say anything than blather bullshit. If its being done without talking to people about it, then that's not a good thing. What I...

I was thinking "I don't remember what this case claims to be about." On the basis that others might be thinking the same, here's a extracts from a reality-based Salt Lake Tribune piece quoted in an earlier post by Luke : The suit, which leans on baseless claims of fraud in the 2020 electi...

And don't forget the old box pews which you can still find in some of the churches on the East Coast. In days of old, these were rented by families. https://northendwaterfront.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/Old-North-Church60-2010-10-23-at-03-28-56.jpg Various flavors of Easter Orthodox churches don...

It's narthex. And pews. Genuine question, what is not pews? (So to speak.) Benches? Seats? I never attended lectures in hermeneutic eschatology so some major issues escape me. With the migration season upon us, DeSantis and Abbott has been bussing to here some birds I do not normally see. In the last week, I have seen or heard: - Swainson's Thrushes - A White-crowned sparrow - This lovely lady, a female Rose-breasted Grosbeak (I saw this and the white-crowned sparrow near...

We had what appeared to be a Pizza Hijack, but then I remembered that pizza is a religion, so it was on topic.
Pineapple on pizza is a more vicious topic of debate than chairs vs. pews.

No surprise: The government waived its response. So now it is time for sanctions deadlisting to conference, where the only choice will be deny or dismiss (due to lack of quorum). It will probably get distributed for the 23 May conference since there was an explicit waiver of a response (distributio...

I learned a new legal term from a tweet today - Contemnor A contemnor is a person who is found to be in contempt of court. A party becomes a contemnor by ignoring/disobeying a court order. Contemnors are subject to court sanctions and punishments. If the contemnor is held in civil contempt of court...

Jack Osborne aka Trader Jack - November 11, 1922 - May 12, 2023 Trader Jack was probably the oldest living Birther. He was a frequent commenter at Obama Conspiracy Theories, on my blog and several other places. I think he should be remembered for coming up with the stupid claim that white toner for...
