Long-awaited PNW Meetup!!

... just getting back from Tillamook ... I'll find out. They used to line Park avenue. But there may well be some at Waterfront. The Waterfront is a good place to visit in its own right. Should be relatively quiet. The next scheduled event is Bridges to Brews on Sunday Apr 21. Starts at 7am. People ...

Long-awaited PNW Meetup!!

Hi and welcome to Portland(ia) W4.

I think you're referring to specific instructions on our meeting place Saturday. I propose we meet 5pm in the park at SW Park and Jefferson. It's right in front of the art museum, and a half block from our 6pm dinner reservation.

Oh, warped floors are the best. Oh yeah. It's one way to keep people out of your kitchen.

So, I've loaded the dishwasher, and I'm going to run it. Wish me luck.

Then it's off to Home Depot to buy a new washer dryer set, and have them delivered next week. My dance card is all full up for this week.

I have four of these tees left - three XL and one 3XL. I'll bring them all. And some cheese curd. I have a service call to Tillamook tomorrow.

Long-awaited PNW Meetup!!

I'll work on a res at Higgins for 6pm Sat Apr 20 in a bit. Here is a map of the area. Let's meet in the red circle around 5pm, form a coven, make some sacrifices, and then head to dinner. We should all be a bit peckish by then I think. I'll bring tee shirts. My weather apps all say light rain and a ...

That assumes the charity actually served special needs people. Who's heard of a non-profit with $100M in the bank for the CEO to "borrow"? Most non-profits work from grants and donations with just enough cash flow to make payroll and serve their mission.

Okay. Three, possibly four, for dinner. I make resies at Higgins for 6ish, and we can figure out a game plan on where to meet and greet before heading over. The Park Blocks are pretty close.

Found 'em! Those scissors that have been lost forever? They were under the washing machine. Actually the vacuum found them as it was sucking up dust bunnies. Recognized them right away. Mrs always thought I lost them, and I always thought she lost them. Who knows which one of us kicked them under th...

Sisters, OR has a fabulous quilt show throughout their town every year, too. It's the world's largest outdoor quilt show and has well over 1000 quilts on display. They hang them on porches and balconies and buildings. Second Saturday in July every year. The big quilt blocks are all over the country...

I never knew that Ken Burns collects quilts. This is wonderful. https: //www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdlRU5B3YsM Very nice. Excellent work. Thank you. The City of Beaverton has a two story open lobby with a perpetual display of quilts that changes twice a year. Tillamook County painted numerous large t...

Looking at reservations, do we have an idea of how many people we'll have at our table? Higgins is dinner service only, and it starts at 5pm. I'm fine with 5pm, but that's was Mrs' fav dinner time. I can eat later. OTOH W4's stomach will still be on EST. 5pm will eight o'clock or later according to ...

Staying near the Art Museum and PSU. Also looking for suggestions to places that I MUST see. :batting: While I do not live in Portland, I went to college there and return somewhat regularly. For stellar Northwest seafood, I would try Higgins, which is located at SW Broadway and Jefferson, not tool ...

I agree with you about the homeless issue downtown, Bill. Duck Dodgers (my husband) and I haven't gone there to eat since before COVID, and most of those places have closed. Jake's Grill is still open at SW 10th and Alder, and is the closest place to PSU that has a pretty good menu and reputation. ...

Staying near the Art Museum and PSU. Also looking for suggestions to places that I MUST see. :batting: I'm a little embarrassed to say I don't think of downtown Portland as a destination. I'll try to think of something. My main concern is the homeless jungle. It gets bigger every year, and positive...

We had Goldilocks weather over the weekend. So I tackled Mrs' car myself. I started on Saturday, and finished yesterday. It was a lot easier than I thought. Some elbow grease, a couple Mr Clean Erasers, and a toothbrush got it done. It's bright and sparkely now. Ready for my nephew. I'm heading to t...
