Re: Racism back in fashion, did it ever fade?
BTW, people who knew the owner and employees at the spa say that it was not sex shop. The owner had no locks on the doors to protect them and looked out for men seeking sex. She was very protective of the employees and threw out men who were looking for a happy ending. This explains why someone wou...

Sad, but I'm glad you got in. I hope she's okay. This kid of thing has happened a couple of times in my family, not ending so well. Yeah. There is that. At 97, and having heard her say "no extraordinary measures" several times to us in the past, we wanted to call 911, but we also knew she...

Well, our Sunday Dinner had a sad ending. Our 97yo Army Air Corp nurse dinner guest left in an ambulance. In the early afternoon every Saturday, I check in with our guests to see if they will be attending, need/want anything special, maybe bringing a friend or relative, etc. etc, so we know how man...

Your charts were helpful. I understand your argument now, and don't have a disagreement with it. The net effect of vax being required could be a whites only policy. At least in the beginning. As more people become vaccinated, that effect will be less pronounced, and limited to those that refuse to b...

The family can thank their lucky stars they will never have to find out how he would react to spilled milk, beer, booze, spaghetti, oyster crackers, popcorn, Fritos, Cheetos, rice, and the litany of other food products in the house. He's going to get locked away forever.

Re: Food but not recipes
Interesting, though pleasant, shopping experience at the new Smart Foodservice in Wilsonville yesterday. It is actually a public retail outlet for US Foodservice, a large restaurant supply company. I think it's a smart thing they did considering the restaurant business tanked over the last year. Jud...

Resident Alien on Syfy Channel
I classify this show as a Cowboy Pizza - a little bit of everything. Murder Mystery, science fiction, comedy. Space alien becomes marooned on Earth, and has difficulty fitting in.

So, you're saying your honey-do list now has rake back mulch and dig a dozen holes around the maple on it?

Have y'all tried downing three fingers of cab sauv when the itchys come on? Or does wine bring it on harder? Maybe a straight shot of vodka or gin?

I can say this: If I were designing a satellite based solar energy system that somehow "beamed" the energy back, I wouldn't beam anything until I had a sync lock with the target Earth station. It won't be a fire hose I wildly aim at the surface etching giant carbon tracks in forests and p...

Just for fun, I applied a typical laser divergence angle of .019deg. Still a big number.

Hopefully they do survive. You didn’t want to use the leaves as mulch for the trees? That is my favorite Autumn trick: to use the Fall leaves to make a no-grow zone around the tree particularly for the lawn. It helps keep the tree roots buried, rejuvinates the soil, creates a clean organized look, ...

Just short of the first day of Spring but we have been busy clearing leaves off the lawn that were killed by the big freeze. As our daughter said yesterday evening as we rested our sore bodies on the patio with alcoholic refreshments, " Next house, no trees." ;) By my count we filled the ...

Re: would you support business that said you can only come in if you were fully vaccinated
I understand the question in here is a thought exercise, but IRL it would be begging for a confrontation. #1 It has to be a business I frequent, or I'll take a deferred position. #2 What's their market position: mom and pop local, small franchise, large franchise, or (multi)national chain? The bigge...
