Rudy Giuliani

I'm sorry, did he just say that the Hispanic judge isn't white enough? WTF? https://x.com/RudyGiuliani/status/1780274708572721350 Judge Merchan is a disgrace and not a judge in the tradition of Anglo-American jurists . By refusing to allow Donald J. Trump to attend his son Barron’s graduation—somet...

2024 Total Solar Eclipse

The red dot at the bottom of the total eclipse that some of us saw is explained here (the 2nd video on the page): https://www.news5cleveland.com/news/local-news/solar-eclipse-2024/what-was-that-red-spot-at-the-bottom-of-the-sun-during-the-total-solar-eclipse It's called a solar prominence, and it's...

The Media are the Goddam Problem

Secondly, do we think that people who present as believing in Flat Earth, or reptilian royals, or nanobots in vaccines, actually genuinely believe that, or rather they amuse themselves and their audience by imagining an alternative universe in which those things are true? Some of the images of the ...

2024 Total Solar Eclipse

https://science.nasa.gov/citizen-science/sunsketcher/ I’ll be participating in this. Thanks, worth checking out. I had literally waited, (with metaphorical bated breath), 20 years for the 2017 eclipse, after I found out we were dead center of the path. Unfortunately it clouded up that day. I hope e...

I agree. I don’t mean to be insensitive, but the plural/singular thing really bothers me. IOW do you say “they is” when talking about one person?

Lauren Boebert - Carpetbaggin’ Vapin’ Yankin’ Lauren Opal Boebert née Roberts

Question: what would be the chances for an incumbent out of the special elections, and not to have been in the primaries, of winning thru write-in votes? They wouldn’t need to win, they’d just need to split the vote with Boebert and let the Dem roll in ! Am I correct that there is no primary for th...

I just got a cheap android phone, (to port landline # to, basically just going to be used for voicemail). Setting it up. I found that androids install a lot of apps. Tiktok being one of them, snapchat was another. Makes me think that every android had them installed by default.

Seems to be another case of projection to me. It has got to the point for me, that whenever they come up with some accusation, I wonder what they had done.

I couldn’t find a vote roll call for the Attorney General nomination. Edited to add above.

Another Merrick Garland f*ckup. Garland is incompetent. He should resign. Maybe Alina Habba's firm will hire him. There had to have been a reason Lindsay Graham said he was a Good Jurist. Unless my memory is screwy, (Reminder. Graham said he was a good candidate that Obama would not Nom to the Supr...

Yes
We’re getting it next week. I cut cable years ago, but had to use DSL until now.
I can’t wait. They pushed the fiber to the house last week. Now waiting for final connection. No more overhead copper lines!

I don't know if I want sunrise at 4:15am in June. It’s great if you’re a farmer, roofer, construction…. I could go on. Get daylight to work without the oppressive heat of late afternoon. Lots of advantages. Before daylight saving time came to be we would play until streetlights came on. Maybe catch...

Thanks Maybe, kids playing later is one of my peeves, also. I think that it’s harder to get them in to do homework, etc. I’m trying to come up with an alternative name something like Sleeptime Stealing Time. People still need to get up at the same time, but if they are encouraged to stay wound up be...

I agree with Rolodex. I am mainly against changing the clocks at all. My preference would be to not have daylight saving time. Also too, I seem to be in the minority in that regard. More than once I’ve agreed with other people when they said they were against daylight saving time, only to find out t...

I agree that laser is the way to go. My main printer is an over 10 year old color duplex laser printer. I don’t print as much as I had in the past; but, I can rely on it to print when I do use it.
