Re: Birding
Wild turkeys are smart. Domestic turkeys on the other hand..... :yeahthat: One of the most interesting documentaries I've seen in recent years is about a naturalist who raised a clutch of wild turkey eggs into full fledged turkeys. He had to teach them everything. But what he learned from them was ...

Re: Chauvin Jury deliberation poll
It's hard for me to believe that some of those jury members would have agreed to acquit. Maybe after two or three weeks of banging heads, but not after less than two full days. So, I am hopeful. Cautiously hopeful. I sure hope you're right. My stomach is in knots right now. Many places in the neigh...

Re: Derek Chauvin trial: The murder of George Floyd
I'm really surprised that people around here think that Minneapolis doesn't want to keep their police force (and police union) happy. If the choice is between angry people in the streets or angry cops who don't want to do their jobs, most municipalities would make the same choice. Can anyone else t...

Re: Derek Chauvin trial: The murder of George Floyd
Does MN have laws that require transparency involving settlements from taxpayer funds? Which way does the blatant attempt to influence the panel cut? We should punish Chauvin since the City thinks he's guilty or We should not punish Chauvin because the family has already been compensated? If jurors...

Re: The secure version of the Fogbow is broken
I can't get to the secure site either on kindle fire or IPhone. The secure site just brings up the original message about the crash. No rush for response, Foogy. https://thefogbow.com/ takes you to the Fogbow site home page and not the forum. The home page used to contain a lot of Birther debunking...

Re: have you received your vaccine yet?
Operation Get Vaccinated is in full swing. Appointment in Bradenton is 4:15. I leave at 1:30 to allow time for routine delays. - I have called the CVS and they are allowing the public to use their bathrooms. - I have a beach towel and ice packed in case my vasovagal kicks in. - I have a sticky note...

Re: have you received your vaccine yet?
I suspect it will be many months before I get mine since I'm healthy and in my 40s, but my wife (elligible as a middle school teacher here in Minnesota) got an appointment and will get her first shot this week.

Having lurked for a couple of years, I joined a couple of years ago. And lurked some more. I have barely posted. I’m a storyteller/carver/cook/martial artist/home schooler because pandemic. The legal expertise and the quality of banter and posts here helps clarify things or alerts me to issues/arti...

Birders are wonderful people, religious, secular or outright atheist like myself. Edit to add, In Central America, Mister and I would read.our Birding book with morning coffee on the porch. You got a picture, ranges, and then a phonetic bird call. He would try to make the calls based upon that - an...

I should note that although I am an avowed atheist, I'm certainly not a militant one, and I am sympathetic (and try to be gracious) towards those that are religious. Now for something a little lighter. How about a sampling of some amazing bird song? Try out some of these fun recordings: Musician Wre...

A reminder: In my Catholic elementary school we had to write "jmj" at the top center of each assignment. It references Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. I think of that whenever you post! haha. that's funny. I never would have guessed, but then I didn't grow up in the Catholic church. The brainwas...

I never introduced myself on the old forum, but now that we've made a new start, why not? I tend to be more comfortable reading than writing, but I contribute here and there when I feel I have something to add. I originally found fogbow in the midst of the Bundy Malheur saga and have stayed because ...

I think there are a lot of us in the same boat. Though I can't actually remember how I found the fogbow. Probably just googling for Bundy updates
