X -Where Twitter goes to die.
I use Twitter mostly to get news and opinions; I rarely tweet; sometimes retweet. I follow about 500 people, mostly news reporters or sports/entertainment figures. Lately I have picked up at least 50 followers who follow thousands of people but have maybe 10 followers. I'm talking several a week. Mo...

Finally saw "The Marvels" - I really liked it. I was at an advantage over the friends I watched with because I had seen the DIsney+ series "Ms. Marvel" and "WandaVision" - both of which explained the characters Kamala Khan and Monica Rambeau. I thought it was a fun movi...

Happy Thanksgiving, y'all
This year has been so chaotic with both my parents having medical issues, so this year we decided to cheat - we ordered a meal from Cracker Barrel. Turkey breasts, cornbread dressing, sweet potato casserole, hashbrown casserole, green beans, gravy, rolls, cranberry relish, and pumpkin and pecan pies...

My dad had a heart attack in 2018, when he was 88. He walked into the ER mid-attack. He had a stent put in and was home in a couple days. About 3 weeks after he got home my mom called me to come over. My dad was ashen with pain, and could hardly stand. We got him to the ER but we had to practically ...

I've been enjoying "Lessons In Chemistry" on Apple+. Stars Brie Larson ("Captain Marvel"). It's a limited series based on a book of the same name. I didn't read the book but I heard about the series and I like Brie Larson. She plays Elizabeth Zott, a woman in the 1950s who wants ...

I once got pulled aside and the agent started going through my carefully packed luggage. Finally I asked him "what are you looking for?" and he said "throwing star". I immediately knew what he wanted: sun pin.jpg It's a pin - about the right size, I suppose. I about fell over lau...

Stephen Colbert. He did his show remotely last night. I only watched the monologue, but Stephen commented that he had everything set up from the podcasts he had been doing. I have mentioned my 93 year old dad who has dementia - pretty sure Alzheimer's. He has been living at home with my mom (married 70 years, she is 92), but we are going to have to get my dad into a facility. I'm just venting here because I'm upset and need to talk it out. In general, he's pleasant but...

IIRC, when she got coronated, Queen Consort Camilla became just plain Queen Camilla. Maybe the thread head needs chaging? Back in February my 92 year old mother got shingles. She never had the extreme burning pain that many people report, but she did have horrible blisters - huge blisters, about the size of my pinkie finger. Her doctor gave her an antiviral, and the blisters eventually went away (after about 2 months!)...

My parents got the original shingles vaccine, but haven't gotten the new one. In February, my mother got a case of shingles on the right side of her upper body. The pain wasn't the horrible "I can't wear clothes" pain but it was pretty uncomfortable and she got terrific blisters. The blist...

Yeah, my dad still has a sense of humor. When I told him he wasn't allowed to drive any more, he said "any car?" When I said no, he said "I guess I'll have to get a motorcycle."
