At this point, though, the Committee has received information from hundreds of people. Whatever Bannon says will be weighed against his credibility and against conflicting or corroborating testimony from others.

I guess the former guy will regret this letter.
Shame, regret... does not exist in his world. What happened before is nothing to him unless he can use it, and if he can't, he makes up the history. The only thing in his past he cannot turn off is daddy not loving him (f*** Fred Trump).

Now that Bannon is willing to burn the house down testify, anybody want to speculate how/if that would affect his trial, or, more specifically, the defense's argument that he should be acquitted because he's changed his mind?
Steve Bannon says he's willing to testify before January 6 committee after Trump waives claims of executive privilege
Lofgren says they still want to talk to him but it won't be public.
Judge Nichols is DENYING Steve Bannon's motion to continue his trial. Jury selection begins Monday. Nichols says he thinks it's "very unlikely" they won't be able to resolve any issues about pretrial publicity through voir dire.

As it turns out, he may be unavailable.

Saw a joke on a friend's FB wall -- I think it was from an Onion article -- referring to Bannon as 'Trump's most encrusted senior advisor'. And now I can't think of him any other way, gawdelp me.

ALERT: Steve Bannon *again* asks to delay his Contempt of Congress trial from Monday to October.
Among other arguments, he cites clip of his Jan 5, 2021 played at yesterday's Jan 6 committee hearing

So, his argument for delaying his trial for not appearing before Congress is that he had actual relevant information that Congress would have wanted to have.

If only there were a way to ask potential jurors questions before the trial begins and possibly exclude ones who know WTF is a Steve Bannon...

Bannon defense argues there are now “additional inflammatory” rhetoric about Bannon that could bias jurors … because of Tuesday’s Jan 6 Cmte hearing in which Bannon’s “all hell” will break loose comment from Jan 5
And because of Mother Jones audio of Bannon ahead of election

Oh, Bannon “leaked “ the audio?

So the main thing is to make sure the jury doesn't find out anything he ever did or said.

Bannon defense is arguing that if even one prospective juror mentions the CNN Bannon documentary during jury selection…. The entire rest of jury pool would be tainted
Judge has already stated the juror questioning will be not be audible or viewable to other jurors

Judge Nichols acknowledges there are concerns about some pretrial publicity … but says jury selection and voir dire are the remedy.
Only if 14 jurors can’t be found… will he consider a delay
