Panicked Donald Trump forced to run for cover surrounded by secret service agents as paraglider protester flies around Scottish golf course

https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/ ... r-12915086
The paraglider carried a banner bearing the message 'Trump: Well Below Par' over the Turnberry course.

It flew three miles across the Ayrshire countryside at 9.30pm – minutes after Trump arrived at the course - before circling the lawn in front of the hotel where the US President is staying for the weekend, the Daily Record reports.

Footage shows Secret Service officers notice the paraglider and walk towards the President.

The 72-year-old then turns and walks away, bursting into trot as he disappears out of view.
That's a very slow trot

Not too familiar with men's suits and how they're supposed to fit, but is that a proper fit? Is there no one to press them now that Hope is gone?
Well, for one thing the idea of a suit is it's supposed to be buttoned most of the time . . .
That point even I knew ;)

Enjoying the weather as the Meadows fills up with protesters. Very good natured protest with some excellent signs.

Photos later when I work out how to

Well, he's more of a pacer. ;)

(Yes, I know, pacers generally are faster than trotters. :) )

I'm in Turnberry where protesters have started to gather. Richard Leat from Edinburgh says he disagrees with Trump on "almost every policy"

According to where I got this, "You'll have had your tea" is very Edinburgh humour. Tea means dinner. Some Scots have a reputation for being mean. "You'll have had your tea," said by a host communicates a presumption that the guest should have already eaten because you're not getting any of their food. So it's being used to say "you're not welcome and you're not getting anything from us".

LONDON — Not even Donald Trump can defuse a diplomatic hand grenade after it has gone off.

At an extraordinary press conference at the U.K. prime minister’s country retreat Friday, President Trump sought to limit the damage he had done to his relationship with Theresa May over three days of increasingly hostile rhetoric which came close to blowing up his first official visit to the U.K. before it had even begun.
Another close up with his suit.

An Offer they Can’t Refuse: Trump’s “Mob Boss Style” on Display in London
https://www.juancole.com/2018/07/refuse ... splay.html
Juan Cole 07/14/2018
:snippity: Trump’s visit was marked by a peculiarly vicious attack on his host, Theresa May, in an interview in The Sun tabloid, which appeared quite awkwardly on the morning he was set to have talks with . . . Theresa May. This is something I had predicted earlier this week.

In the interview, Trump virtually commanded Britain to take the “hard Brexit” path of avoiding a common market with Europe that would keep the British economy closely tied to the EU. Such a path, which May has opted for, would place restrictions on British trade with blocs outside the EU or at least would interfere with tariff sweetheart deals.

Trump wants the British economy to be solely at the mercy of US business tycoons.

Good on ya to Shrek and his fellow Scottish protestors. The Secret Service keeps Trump away from most protestors but it's good to see the Scots figured a way to get through and be heard.

Please keep it up.

It should be at the golf course where he could see it.

Yes, but Turnberry is somewhat remotely located. That's why he is there.

With this oaf visiting, it's lucky that, according to the rules, the queen can move on a diagonal.

Even so, and even if you don't think she deserves any privilege/respect as a queen, she should be treated like the elderly woman she is, that is, you walk at her pace. There's a photo of Obama helping her to step down. THAT's what a real human being does.
