Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg home from hospital after surgery

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was discharged from the hospital Tuesday after she had surgery to remove cancerous lung nodules last week, court spokeswoman Kathy Arberg said in a statement Wednesday.

Details: Ginsburg, who is 85 and a two-time cancer survivor, had two malignant growths removed from her left lung. Doctors say there is no evidence of the remaining disease and it did not spread to other parts of her body.

I'll drop this here...

Politico: WHITE HOUSE Trump White House urging allies to prepare for possible RBG departure
The White House is reaching out to political allies and conservative activist groups to prepare for an ailing Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s possible death or departure from the Supreme Court — an event that would trigger the second bitter confirmation battle of President Donald Trump’s tenure.

The outreach began after Ginsburg, 85, on Monday missed oral arguments at the court for the first time in her 25 years on the bench. The justice, who was nominated to the court by President Bill Clinton in 1993, announced in late December that she underwent a surgical procedure to remove two cancerous growths from her lungs.

The White House "is taking the temperature on possible short-list candidates, reaching out to key stakeholders, and just making sure that people are informed on the process," said a source familiar with those conversations, who spoke on background given the delicate nature of the subject. "They're doing it very quietly, of course, because the idea is not to be opportunistic, but just to be prepared so we aren't caught flat-footed."
:snippity:
The White House is urging outside allies to be prepared for another bruising confirmation battle should Ginsberg’s health take a sudden turn for the worse, according to four sources with knowledge of the overtures. Outside groups, led by the Federalist Society and the Judicial Crisis Network, played a leading role in helping to confirm Kavanaugh and, before that, Justice Neil Gorsuch.
To which Trump replied, Fuck the law. I don't give a fuck about the law. I want my fucking money.

But mojo's post was seriously offensive. And frankly incoherent.

Fox News(of course):
'Fox & Friends' accidentally shows graphic saying Ruth Bader Ginsburg is dead
The hosts of “Fox & Friends” on Monday apologized for showing a graphic saying Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is dead, blaming a control room error.

The graphic, similar to those marking the deaths of other famous figures, briefly showed a photo of Ginsburg and the dates “1933-2019.”

“We need to apologize … A technical error in the control room triggered a graphic of RBG with a date on it,” co-host Steve Doocy said later in the program. “We don’t want to make it seem anything other than that was a mistake. That was an accident.”

“We apologize, big mistake,” co-host Ainsley Earhardt added.

ABC News
US Rep. Walter Jones of North Carolina enters hospice care

A Republican congressman who has represented North Carolina for over two decades has entered hospice care.

A news release issued Saturday on the official government page for U.S. Rep. Walter Jones Jr. says that his health has declined since he recently broke his hip and that he's in hospice care.

He had been battling ailments in recent months. He was granted a leave of absence from Congress in late 2018 after missing a number of votes.

Jones was re-elected to the U.S. House in November after running unopposed in a district that includes Kinston, Greenville and New Bern. He has served in Congress since 1995.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg attends musical production in first public appearance since surgery

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on Monday made her first public appearance since having surgery to remove cancerous nodules from her lung, attending a production celebrating her life.

Ginsburg attended a showing of “Notorious RBG in Song” at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, according to The Washington Post. The program, which is composed and performed by Ginsburg’s daughter-in-law, Patrice Michaels, offers a portrait of the 85-year-old justice in several songs.

The Post noted that that production is presented for high school students by the National Constitution Center.

"Thrilled that Justice Ginsburg attended the first concert performance of #NotoriousRBG in Song," Jeffrey Rosen, president and CEO of the National Constitution Center, tweeted. "She, Patrice Michaels, and the performance were magnificent!"
.....................
Ginsburg's appearance at the museum marked a significant moment in her recovery. Ginsburg hadn't made a public appearance since having surgery on Dec. 21.
.................
But the surgery, which typically requires six to eight weeks of recovery, caused Ginsburg to miss oral arguments several times for the first time since becoming a justice in 1993.
........
But Ginsburg has continued to work from home as she recovers. The Post reported that she has participated in deciding which cases the court accepts and rejects and that she will vote on cases based on briefs and transcripts.

The Post also reported that it is unlikely Ginsburg will attend President Trump's State of the Union address on Tuesday.

The family of former U.S. Rep. John Dingell said he is in hospice care after a cancer diagnosis, and they are requesting privacy.

The 92-year-old Dearborn Democrat was diagnosed a year ago with prostate cancer that had metastasized and Dingell decided not to treat it, a family member said Wednesday. He recently went into hospice care.

His wife, Rep. Debbie Dingell, D-Dearborn, said her husband is in relatively good spirits and even dictated a tweet on Wednesday because he had to respond to President Donald Trump's State of the Union address.

Peter Frampton Talks Degenerative Muscle Disease Diagnosis, Farewell Tour
“In a year’s time, I might not be able to play,” says Frampton, who was diagnosed with Inclusion-Body Myositis. “I want to go out screaming”

He is still able to play guitar without any difficulty, but with the window now beginning to possibly close forever, he booked a farewell tour that will keep him on the road this summer and possibly a bit longer.

I read this week that Luke Perry of 90210 fame has had a massive stroke at age 52.

I read it or tried to read more about it but the article was TMZ and their pages are shit.

52 is young (and also my age)
