The Fox News hosted laughed maniacally before abruptly terminating an interview with a former corrections official.
Fox News host Tucker Carlson behaved strangely on the air Tuesday night. Near the end of his show about the conviction of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin for the murder of George Floyd, Carlson laughed maniacally, then abruptly ended an interview with a guest who dared to criticize police use of excessive force.
Carlson, who spent months spreading lies about Floyd’s death and railing against the Black Lives Matter movement it reignited, invited former New York corrections official Ed Gavin on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” to speak after the verdict. “I want the police to protect people,” Gavin said. “But specifically what we’re dealing with here, is a person in custody, he was handcuffed and subdued. At that point, we have to take a different tact.”
Gavin pointed to a 1995 Department of Justice paper that discussed the “physiology of a struggle” in policing and how being restrained in certain positions can hinder breathing and lead to sudden death. “I think every law enforcement officer should read that,” Gavin said. “Like I said, Mr. Floyd was brought under control. What should have happened at that point is an EMS should have been summoned and he should have been placed in an ambulance. And a supervisor should have been called to the scene.”
“I just think that it was excessive and it shouldn’t happen,” he added.
At that point, Carlson interrupted and spoke over Gavin, saying, ”Yeah. Well. The guy who did it looks like he’s going to spend the rest of his life in prison. So I’m kind of more worried about the rest of the country, which thanks to police inaction, in case you haven’t noticed, is like, boarded up.”

That is so creepy. Folks at Fox must be beside themselves having to report on this, doesn't look like there were any riots and mayhem overnight to stir the pot with.

The reaction at the scene of the crime had to really throw Faux for a loop. I can just about guarantee they had to dig into their archives to find footage of people whooping and hollering and throwing things and insinuate that was current footage from the scene of Floyd's murder. Except they would not have used the word murder, they would have said from the scene of his death by <fill in the blank, anything but at the hands of the police>. That is their stock in trade, they routinely show scenes that have nothing to do with the story they are telling. It's all about tricking their audience into believing their narratives.

Two things:
A. why do all his kids names end in the “-ie” sound? Hopie? Really? Most adults drop childhood nicknames that end in that sound - Johnny becomes John etc. -to sound more, well, adult.
2. What’s with his mouth in the high school yearbook photo?
He is a 12 year old in a man’s body AND has a few screws loose. His smirk makes me feel murderous.

While I'm sure that most police departments or local prosecutors would not pursue the matter, wouldn't calling the police in that instance constitute knowing making a false statement to the police? If they called 911 that would be an abuse of the emergency system.
If enough people in a given city followed Carlson's advice, the authorities might take notice and begin prosecutions as misdemeanors.

Emotional gratification. His viewers are anxious and insecure, and he provides them with a framework where they can blame their anxiety on others and have fantasies of making other people feel how they feel, thus asserting their rightful power over others.
