I was watching Kirk Pendergrass get arrested today. I don't have a coherent thread to link to but if you check my twitter TL (look for replies too) you will see the nonsense. Kirk used to be in business with Chris Hallett who got murdered a few months ago. They were partners in the pretend law firm eClause.

The murder trial of Neely Raye Pesognellie Petrie Blanchard, a self-described sovereign citizen, began Tuesday morning with opening statements from the prosecution and the defendant, who is representing herself.

Blanchard fired her lawyer, local defense attorney Jack Maro, last month. She had asked for more time to get a lawyer, but the judge told her no.

Blanchard is charged with first-degree murder with a firearm in the death of Christopher Hallett, 50, who was shot and killed in his Marion Oaks residence in November 2020. She has been incarcerated at the county jail since her arrest in 2020.

Hallett was CEO of E-Clause, which he founded to assist people in regaining custody of children who were removed by state officials. He created the company because his own children were taken from him during a bitter divorce, the prosecutor said. Blanchard was connected to Hallett because her children were taken from her due to drugs and violence, Berndt said.

The prosecutor said Hallett and Blanchard came together through E-Clause and began working together in 2017. Hallett promised to get back Blanchard's children. Hallett, who isn't a lawyer, was not making any headway with Blanchard's case. By 2020, Blanchard got angry and thought Hallett was working against her, the prosecutor said.

Berndt said on the day of the shooting, Blanchard was at Hallett's residence working on her documents. Another woman and her child were in the residence at the time of the shooting. The child saw Blanchard shoot Hallett and heard Blanchard tell her (Blanchard's) mother that she shot Hallett and needed to leave.



The judge or the prosecutors told Blanchard multiple times she needed to ask questions relevant to her case. For instance, when Blanchard questioned law enforcement officials, she focused on their prior military service: Which branch? How long did they serve? What was their rank?

She also wanted to know if we live in a police state, and if information from the teletype used to find her is owned by the federal government.

Sometimes, her questions were either too long or confusing. Other times, she would pause for several minutes looking through her notes before asking questions.

This is actually kind of interesting -- Tulis has been pumping his Right To Travel bs both for himself and for others. Somehow, he was able to get the TN DOT to write a letter he's posting on his car while adjudicating happens. Obviously, as a constant loser, he'll lose again, but the ruling should be interesting for all the SovCits trying to use this nonsense.

It is a “to whom it may concern” missive to police officers who might stop me for traveling down the road either with an expired tag or no tag at all. The car is focus of a lawsuit against the Tennessee department revenue and its commissioner, David Gerregano for fraud.

The protection letter is a concession for my having to wait until July 7 to depose a department official about its Eye of Sauron operation in ostensible enforcement of the Tennessee financial responsibility law of 1977 (motor vehicle insurance law). Clearly it would have been bad optics to force a working man to use the public road in peril of arrest while a government lawyer took time off to have a baby. Anne Warner is Camille Cline’s substitute during her absence. Mrs. Cline and I had just finished a combative round regarding “notice of deposition” when she departed. Mrs. Warner and I quickly drafted the letter and arrange a compromise. Hearing officer Buchanan earlier rejected a motion for injunction.

Americans live under commercial government, and not under lawful government. All movement by car or truck is presumptively under commerce, and under “privilege.” Taxes in Tennessee are imposed only two ways. Ad valorem. And privilege. Presumption of privilege means all cops and deputies enforce privileging regulation on all users of the road. Anyone not under the tag of commerce is going to be arrested and abused because we live under illegal bill of attainder “law.” A bill of attainder effectively makes outlaw a category of people apart from trial or hearing.

Interesting letter.

It confirms the existence of the administrative hearing. But it doesn't suggest that law enforcement really do anything. It does read like a Get Out Jail Free letter at all.

So if he's pulled over for bad tags, and he shows the letter, law enforcement could still issue a ticket/summons.

A couple of weeks ago, I got a parking ticket in a village garage* at 7:30 p.m. for parking in an employee section without an employee permit, even though the signs say an employee permit is required between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. I called the village the next morning and inquired about it. After checking, she voided the ticket.

I did not go all SovCit on her but just calmly explain the issue. I had checked the sign and the village website before calling, just in case. If they had changed the rules and I missed it, I would have parted with $25. SovCits would probably have fought to the jail on it (or likely ignored it).

*Our garages are free and normally allow 4-hour parking except in marked areas. One area is reserved for those who work for businesses without their own lot for staff. There is a charge that either the business or the employees paid. This is to keep various spots in the garages and surface lots open for customers. Given the amount of restaurants we have, I could see them justifying making the rule till 9 p.m. It could be a money maker since some bar patrons don't believe "reserved for" signs apply to them.
