John McAfee - Computer Antivirus Pioneer to Cryptocurrency Fraudster

The US Attorney's Office for the SDNY has filed an indictment alleging a variety of cryptocurrency pump and dump schemes. There is a companion civil case filed by the CFTC.

Damn.
I am kinda pissed.. I was hoping that his years of crappy behavior would actually catch up with him instead.

Well they did, so much so he couldn't face the punishment for it and offed himself.

craaaaap.
People were only half joking, but I am already seeing a lot of chatter about how he was assassinated like Epstein. Among the tech crowd it is probably not all that serious, but if he posted a big Q that could get the quidiots involved.

The decision was announced on Monday, but the written rationale was released today (Wednesday, June 23, 2021). I have not yet been able to locate a copy of the Spanish court's opinion.

Assassinated? I'd think the IRS would have an easier time collecting their due if he were alive.

Eh, he had a bit of a technolibertarian cult following.. so I would not be surprised if some of them believe he was killed for political reasons.

Another whose AV software I didn't completely trust. Kaspersky being the one I'd trust the least.
