I wish I could "show" the password as I type it. Some web pages let me do that. It's hard to know that I've typed the correct character when all it returns is a *. I suspect your iPad is shifting a character to upper or lower case on you.
Of the many (low hundreds) of websites that have a signup from me I have only encountered a couple that will not let me do a c&p into the vision protected field. So one can use a text editor, type the p/w in clear and then c&p it if invisibility is a problem. As for the Apple, maybe the spellchecker and prediction is playing up.

Yeah, I've been getting logged out a lot on my phone the last couple days too, also.

I've been getting logged out on my iPad recently. And even more frequently on my Android phone. But not on my Mac. Go figure :)
I have sometimes had issues with my iPad getting signed off, but I it was usually when I opened it up while on the train. I always suspected that it might have been partially related to switching mobile towers.

I know less than nothing about iPads. I saw one a long time ago, but I didn't get a chance to touch it. Sorry!
I have an iPad but it's so old it can't be updated any more, or so says apple updates.

Try entering the password twice. Once and then again before hitting the enter key. If a spellchecker is changing it, this should override the spellchecker. Make certain your login name isn't being changed too.

One time a year or two ago, I managed to get ol' Wifehorn to join me for a sales pitch at a fancy-schmancy hotel over in Research Triangle Park. If you sat through the pitch, you'd get a gift - guaranteed - and one of the gifts was an iPad. Cool!

'Course, ol' Wifehorn was never gonna fall for the pitch. She was a top sales rep for Honeywell and other companies, and she's an expert at saying no to high-pressure sales pitches. No way in hell she was gonna buy anything. :nope: She was just there so I could get my free iPad.

So the pitch was a lifetime vacation discount deal, and it cost a little more than $12,000, and I was sitting there thinking about my new iPad and chuckling at the idea that ol' Wifehorn would pay that kind of money. I kept looking over at her, and she looked seriously skeptical. She asked a lot of detailed questions about the deal, poking holes in the pitch like she does. You can NOT fool that woman. Very enjoyable couple of hours.

So when the pitch was over, she talked them down to $4,000 and decided to go with the deal. How the heck did she do that? She did a better sales pitch than they did, and she was so dogged that they gave her a better deal than anyone else in the room. And I learned a long time ago that when she decides to spend that much money, she really, really, REALLY wants whatever it is.

So we've been on two vacations since then, and they're nice. We have an excellent deal on lifetime discounts, including we're probably going on a cruise next spring.

But I didn't get my iPad. You only get the iPad if you don't take the deal. :blackeye:

I shoulda tooked one a my girlfriends and had her pretend to be ol' Wifehorn. :bag:

.
Edit: Yeah, I'm reporting a problem, so it's right on topic. :fingerwag:

Nope. And this next part is not a problem, so I'll go off-topic:
Off Topic
We got married in California, where the average marriage lasts about 2 years. One time I went to the wedding of a girl I knew, and 3 weeks later that marriage was OVER.

In April it will be 25 years for us. She's the only woman I ever dated who had her own hard hat - she worked in the aluminum industry for a while. And she has this imaginary bulldozer, and she will get up in that thing and RUN YOU OVER. She's a tough, tough lady. Cute, too also. :lovestruck:

She was engaged twice before she married me, and I feel sorry for them two shlubs, because I know what happened - she smushed 'em flat with the bulldozer and then looked down at them all flattened on the pavement and thought, "Well, they're no fun!"

But when she tried to flatten me it didn't work none. I don't let anybody smush me with no bulldozer, so I stood up to her a few times but I told her I loved her and still wanted to marry her, so she showed up for the wedding and here we are.

But if I ever did let her run over me and flatten me like that, I suspect she'd divorce me in short order. I went with it on the vacation deal because she's GOOD at that kind of thing and we're better off if I roll with it. But I can put my foot down when I know I'm right, so we're going well after almost 25 years.

She still owes me a iPad, though ... :violin:

While logged out, select the login option. Type in your username. Right below the password box there is a "I forgot my password" option. Select that and it will prompt you for your e-mail address. I've never used it, so I don't know if you can select a new password at that point or not.

Happens to me from time to time. Just an annoiance factor. Foggy has put TFB on a content distribution network that also filters out bad guys. For unknown reasons they sometimes think I ought to be baned and first need to solve the Google riddle of cars and shops and whatever. Sometimes they claim my PC contains a virus what surely will grieve Norton Anti-Virus. The virus claim of course may be possible if my IP address was at one time associated with a PC having such problems.

Earlier today I had to click the box "I am not a robot" (whatever) Then click on squares of two photos that contained bicycles then fire hydrants.

Yesterday or the day before, I just had to click the "I am not a robot" box.

It has been quite awhile since I have had to do either.

My intended comment was another link to an article from The Hill.
I tried posting it right after you told me about how to MUTE the auto play videos.
I followed your instructions. Then attempted to post the article and got the error message.

SO, it must be all your fault. ;)

Thanks again.

@Foggy: I see this thread listed " KC CHIEFS-#15 " and it shows up as moved. I assume it appears now in Sports group that I do not subscribe to.

Question: why do I still get to see the thread listed under recent topics, though not anymore among the Current Events?

Bug or feature? Trying to promote membership in the Sports Areana :?: ;)

ETA: I just have to complain and stuff goes away

I left a "shadow topic" for people like you. But I figure if you don't want to join the Sports Fans usergroup, you probably won't want to see a thread about an American sports ball player anyway.

Hey Foggy - I have had a DM to another member stuck in my outbox for 27 hours or so. Don't know why it didn't send. Doesn't really matter cuz the tweeter DM worked OK so we touched bases but curious why that happened.

I agree but I kind of like that feature. It quickly let's me know someone hasn't read a PM. Also, if it is still in the out box you can edit typos and such.

As Foggy always says, if it's only happening in one place it's not his problem. And he's (usually ;) ) right. I was being logged out consistently on my phone (Huawei P20 Pro, Android 8.1.0, Google Chrome 71.9.3578.99), but not on any other platform. After a some weeks of frustration and a bit of digging, I found out that Chrome has a new feature called "Data Saver" that I guess was enabled during an upgrade. This supposedly saves data by storing web pages on Google's servers and only transmitting changes when refreshing pages. According to the Help page, this can sometimes cause problems with signing in to certain websites. I've disabled it, and now I stay logged in
