How embarrassing for John Cena. Never heard of Peacemaker. But, from the opening credits the show seems to be a parody.

I truly love the few first shots of this with the car driving into the screen, and the theme is fantastic.

And to see how it's played

This was from a Scottish Police detective series called Taggart, set in Glasgow. Which Had the nickname "No Mean City" at the time due to the amount of stabbings that occurred in it.

Oh yeah, whenever I hear delta blues, I think Glasgow.

I suppose bag pipes are bit worn out on Scottish audiences these days. Can't fault them for wanting more.

As people on the show might say, Glasgow as depicted on that show was a long way from fekkin' Bagpipes.

What surprises me in all these police procedurals in the UK, US, et al is just how many murders there are to solve. Even sleepy little Cabot Cove Maine is apparently a very dangerous place to live. The amount of public treasury devoted towards investigating homocides must be enormous.

Back in the day, so many tv (and movie) theme songs became radio hits. I don't think that happens much any more, but I never watch network TV or listen to current music radio, so I'm not a great resource on that.

Another list of TV theme songs, this time from Rolling Stone magazine - The 100 Greatest TV Theme Songs of All Time

How they chose and ranked them:
First, we assembled a massive list of great songs from throughout the entire long history of TV. We then pared that down by looking for diversity in terms of style of music, style of show, and era. (Honestly, the entire 100 could have been made up of shows from the Seventies. Apologies to The White Shadow, What’s Happening??, and many more that did not make the final list.) Some were written expressly for that show, while others were pre-existing songs given new life through their association with a particular series.

Then we considered two main factors: 1)How great is it as a song? 2)How well does it prepare you for the show that follows, in terms of mood and/or an explanation of the premise? Sometimes, one factor weighed more heavily than the other, and many bitter fights were fought. (There are still hurt feelings regarding which of ABC’s T.G.I.F. family sitcoms got the nod and which ones didn’t.) Like any attempt to quantify art, there was ultimately a lot of gut feelings involved: On its own, Theme Song A is an objectively better piece of music than Theme Song B, but Theme Song B is a much more perfect match for its show.

From Billboard's website - The Top 65 Movie Songs of All Time

(I'm just doing these links because it's easy to forget songs from 25 years ago, but when you see it listed you go "Oh, yeah! I loved that song!")

Haunting piece, I and many other piano students soloed it, my mother's soap opera of choice filled the house with an unmistakeable energy.

The tune has an interesting history:
"Nadia's Theme", originally titled "Cotton's Dream", is a piece of music composed by Barry De Vorzon and Perry Botkin Jr. in 1971. It was originally used as incidental music for the 1971 film Bless the Beasts and Children, and is better known as the theme music to the television soap opera The Young and the Restless since the series premiered in 1973. "Cotton's Dream" was renamed "Nadia's Theme" after it became associated with Olympic gymnast Nadia Comăneci during and after the 1976 Summer Olympics.

First Contact is my favorite Star Trek themes (and one of the 2 best movies as well). When it comes on, I always watch the opening credits just to hear Goldsmith's lovely work once more.

In some ways, I have never quite been able to fully work out in my head how the theme matches the general themes of the film (well, minus the lovely Montana, well, California, views) but I don't care. I still love it.

It is a parody and John Cena was supposed to be bad in the dance sequence. Peacemaker is a very clumsy, awkward character.

The show is awesome. Can't wait for season 2. It's a DC Comics thing. Think Deadpool, only less witty. Deadpool outwits his enemies. Peacemaker is constantly fooled by them.
