Scribd now is 3 companies/brands, one is called Everand and has Audiobooks, Ebooks, Magazines, Podcasts and even Sheet Music. It's an interesting and quirky catalog. You get a month free and it's all-you-can-listen to or read. It's like Libby; you just listen to the audiobooks, you don't keep them. At the end of the month, I went to cancel and they offered another free month. Just now it was going to renew for $11.99, when I went to cancel they offered another free month. I signed up through Scribd and then the other services are automatically included. So if you like Audiobooks, you can get up to 3 free months from them (or for sure one month). Merry Audiobook Christmas!

Killers of the Flower Moon by David Grann. My husband wants to watch the movie, but I always like to listen to the book first if there’s a film adaptation. I’m about 2/3 in. It’s very good.

The Deluge by Stephen Markley. I really liked his first work of fiction Ohio.

Audible is having a two audiobooks for 1 credit sale now. Ends 1/21/24.

This looked fascinating, added it:

Powers and Thrones
A New History of the Middle Ages
By: Dan Jones Length: 24 hrs and 25 mins
“Despite the immensity of the task, renowned historian Jones makes the 1,000-year history of the Middle Ages accessible and utterly fascinating. He does so by consistently applying two techniques, strategic use of primary source material and relatable comparisons to modern times.... The book’s subtitle includes the word new, and deservedly so. This is a refreshing take on a long, complex period in the human story.” (Booklist)

Thank you for the encouragement, it means a lot to me. :bighug:

Every time I go to cancel Everand (which includes SCRIBD too), it keeps offering another free month. They have a ton of audiobooks and often there's no waiting like Libby from the libraries. I've been prepared to have it canceled, but if they want to provide free access ($11.99/month is the price), not saying no.

I'm starting to feel guilty. Honest, I've been ready to cancel because I have 5 audible credits, but just clicking the cancel screen offers yet another free month. It is cool to just have a library without having to own an audiobook (it does have different content from Libby, and often no wait times). Think it's broken? Should I feel bad?
