So I went to the dealer to get an oil change yesterday...
Today I drove about 30 miles into the the city. The car stank and when I got to my destination, I opened the hood and

It doesn't look like you lost any oil via the filler spout. Verify with the oil stick nearby. Everything should be okay, and it's safe to run it back to the dealer. If in doubt, stuff a shop rag in the spout to keep debris from falling in.

As long as the dash board does not light up like a christmas tree, no problems.

If you lost a lot of oil the oil pressure lamp would light up, just check the dip stick and fill up as needed.

A small drop of evapourating oil on the motor block can go a long way in making a stink without you having lost much. The missing top is slike a boiling pan on the stove, lots of bubbling but little spill.
