Well if the Wall Street Journal Opinion page says there is no case, then I don't know what we are doing here.

Trump attorney Todd Blanche said Monday is fine to break at lunch but asked that they do not sit on Tuesday because it's a holiday the entire day for one attorney on the team.

"I can appreciate it's a holiday, the entire day for him. It's not a court holiday," Merchan says.
I wonder which Holiday it is? World Table Tennis Day? National Cherry Cheesecake Day?

Passover. Starts on Monday at sundown.

And the judge is correct: it isn't a recognized court holiday.

This is just 2016 all over again. The media is chasing Trump around, televising every bit of manure coming out of his mouth. He's already gotten more free publicity than any normal candidate has ever gotten and we are barely into the campaign season. So, I don't know what he's complaining about. As usual, he has the media at his every beck and call allowing him to spew his garbage until he runs out of steam.
There's a lot of things that need to change. One specifically? Police brutality.

Ah, ok. Thank you. I should have checked for holidays that start the prior day. I appreciate the correction.

No problem: Many observers do not work the first full day after it starts; hence the discussion about Tuesday.

Prosecutors want Justice Juan Merchan to issue a $1,000 fine for each alleged violation, order Trump to take down the posts, and warn him that “further violations could result in jail time.”
https://www.justsecurity.org/daily-cour ... violations

:bwahaha:
As if. There are what, three violations originally? And now they've added an additional seven? So they are looking to fine him $10k? I'm sure that will stop him!

Also, jail time? Who are we kidding here. They aren't going to give him any jail time, he's a celebrity. It continually cheapens the judiciary to threaten such things with no plan to follow through. Just don't bother. As if they would hold him to account, ha!

Either shit or get off the pot. Stop making rules for him to break if you aren't going to enforce them. It makes ya look like a nimrod.

Per Snopes, Trump has attended all of his children's high school and college graduations with maybe an exception for Don Jr when Trump had a scheduling conflict.
An extensive search by Snopes provides documented evidence of Trump attending all of his children's high school and college graduations, with the possible exception of Donald Trump Jr.'s 1996 high school graduation.

In that case, however, Donald Trump — who may have been busy with an event celebrating the launch of Trump's World's Fair Casino — did visit his son's school during his final semester, before his graduation, to give a Career Day talk. In her memoir, Trump's first wife, Ivana, wrote about school events that "my rule was that someone — me, Donald, the nannies, my parents, or a combination — had to be at every one."

That can't be right. I read it on the internet that he didn't go to any of his kids graduations.

Trump's lawyers are not getting the names of the witnesses prosecutors will call on Monday. Trump's reputation precedes him.

Tyler McBrien
@TylerMcBrien

Next issue: Steinglass inquires for the record the court's preference for potential witnesses to be present for other witnesses' testimony.

This is the first Blanche is hearing of it, so he requests the names of the first three witnesses. Steinglass says that's usually a courtesy, one he doesn't want to extend bc Trump has been tweeting about the witnesses. Merchan says he can't fault them for that, won't order it.
Adam Klasfeld's tweet in this - https://x.com/KlasfeldReports/status/17 ... 8196183277
Adam Klasfeld
@KlasfeldReports

After prosecutors warn about Trump's social media posts about witnesses, defense attorney Todd Blanche suggests that his client won't "Truth" like that.

Merchan deadpans:

"That he will not tweet about any witness? I don't think that you can make that representation." :lol:

Trump attorney calls hush money case a ‘6-week-long media extravaganza’

An attorney for former President Trump brushed off the significance of his first criminal trial, which is scheduled to begin Monday, saying the case is merely a “six-week-long media extravaganza.”
:snippity:
“At the end of the day, what we’re talking about here is a show trial,” he continued. “It’s a six-week-long media extravaganza in the media capital of the world where the only realistic consequence, even if President Trump were convicted, is frankly a talking point for the Biden campaign.”

I agree. Just today, I saw a pic of Ivanka's graduation. Ivana, Eric, Junior, Ivana's mom and Ivanka were in the picture, but no sign of Dad.

I can't see him being the one who was taking the picture and therefore wasn't in the picture.

If he were there, he would have been in the picture.

Something tells me that Merchan is the kind of judge that would treat Trump the same as any other defendant. If he has jailed other defendants for thumbing their noses at court orders I think he just might put Trump in jail for 30 days as well. If he hasn't jailed others I seriously doubt he would jail Trump. Merchan doesn't strike me as being intimidated by Trump in the least. IMO he should not only jail Trump for the most recent instance, but also tell him that one more instance and his pretrial release will be revoked.
