Now this is bizarre. Nolte, columnist for Breitbart who uses Ed O'Neill's Al Bundy as his profile pic, is pro vax -- and saying that it's "leftists" fooling Trump supporters into refusing the vax so we can kill them.

CBS: COVID: Fisherman’s Wharf In-and-Out Burger Location Temporarily Closed for Not Checking Vax Status:
The In-N-Out Burger location at Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco was temporarily closed last week for not checking customers for proof of vaccination, according to officials with the restaurant chain.

An In-N-Out Burger representative confirmed in a statement that the San Francisco Department of Public Health closed the 333 Jefferson Street location last Thursday, Oct. 14, “because In-N-Out Burger Associates (employees) were not preventing the entry of customers who were not carrying proper vaccination documentation.”

The representative said the restaurant has since reopened but, indoor dining is unavailable.

* * *

The company’s Chief Legal and Business Officer Arnie Wensinger said in a statement that the location “properly and clearly posted signage to communicate local vaccination requirements.”

However, Wensinger’s statement went on to disagree with the SFDPH requirement that restaurant employees “must actively intervene by demanding proof of vaccination and photo identification from every customer, then act as enforcement personnel by barring entry for any customers without the proper documentation.”

The statement went on to say that the company believes in serving all restaurant customers and making all feel welcome, and said the company would not comply what it called the requirement to act as “vaccination police.”

“We refuse to become the vaccination police for any government. It is unreasonable, invasive, and unsafe to force our restaurant associates to segregate customers into those who may be served and those who may not, whether based on the documentation they carry, or any other reason,” the statement read. “We fiercely disagree with any government dictate that forces a private company to discriminate against customers who choose to patronize their business. This is clear governmental overreach and is intrusive, improper, and offensive.”
In-N-Out really owned the libs: it lost its indoor seating (and the storms are a-comin').

One more reason to not take a minimum wage job - having to play vax bouncer at a burger shack.

Both places have a decent product but enjoy being overhyped. I bet we all know places to get better hamberders and chicken sammies; no sweat to avoid these joints if one desires.

Montana AG sent cops to a hospital cuz they refused to give an anti parasitic drug to a COVID patient. I am glad I don't live in Montana.
The state attorney general's office Monday defended its actions after St. Peter's Health in Helena said three different public officials "threatened" hospital doctors last week over the care of a COVID-19 patient.

The patient had requested to be treated with ivermectin, a drug not approved for use against the disease.

"St. Peter’s Health can confirm that several providers were contacted by three different public officials last week regarding the treatment of a patient in our care. These conversations were deeply troubling to our physicians and staff because they were threatened and their clinical judgment was called into question by these individuals," a hospital spokesperson said in a statement emailed Monday.

The hospital did not name the elected officials in its statement, but Republican Attorney General Austin Knudsen's office confirmed his participation in a conference call with hospital executives last week.

A spokesperson for the attorney general disputed the hospital's characterization of the events — which included the Attorney General’s Office dispatching a Montana Highway Patrol trooper to the hospital — as threatening or questioning the medical treatment recommended by doctors. :snippity:

Insanity. The same people who refused the vaccine because it wasn’t approved now demand a treatment that isn’t approved. :brickwallsmall:

Gosh, I hadn't really noticed the complete irony in that contradiction!

Their attitude is all of one with the fraudit crap too: "we know the votes were rigged and it's up to you to find the evidence for us and do as we demand, now!!!", and "we know this drug works and it's up to you to find the evidence for us and do as we demand, now!!!"

If you want to be treated by MEDICINE and MEDICAL SCIENCE then go to the hospital, if you don't, then stay the hell home and keep the hospitals open for people who need them. And don't waste doctors' time. Garg. Idiots.

Many of those who said, "I'm waiting for FDA approval," did so in bad faith. So less irony, and more plain ole deceit.

Now that Pfizer's Comirnaty has FDA approval, the goalpost moved to "Comirnaty is unavailable." But those "doubters" have made no effort to source it, and can't explain the "desire" for Comirnaty when both the FDA and Pfizer said the two products are interchangeable.

(And I presume there's no advertising of how to obtain Comirnaty to prevent a glut of Pfizer's other product.)

“Coach” Dave Daubenmire, who has been against vaccinations before the cool kids were. He definitely carried the birther torch for awhile, but eventually moved on.

It is interesting but ultimately unsurprising the overlap between birthers and antivaxxers.

Because of HIPAA a medical professional can't discuss a patient's medical care without a patient's permission.

Are health care professionals required to discuss a patient's health care with anyone for whom a patient signs a HIPAA release form? Is a medical professional required to talk to a politician if a patient waves HIPAA to allow a health care professional to talk to the politician?

AFAIK

No - the medical professional is not required to speak with anyone*.

* Except a patient or someone with POA or similar in regards to treatment, but only to a reasonable extent relevant to that treatment.
* Even a police officer - iirc there is no requirement to answer questions about someone else.
(unless specifically empowered)

Powell’s death prompted an outpouring of grief throughout the world of politics and the media. Roberts, however, took note of the fact that Powell had been vaccinated, in a tweet that has since been deleted.

“The fact that Colin Powell died from a breakthrough COVID infection raises new concerns about how effective vaccines are long-term.”

Roberts’ tweet made no mention of the fact that Powell suffered from multiple myeloma, a kind of blood cancer that weakens the immune system. It also made no mention of the fact that coronavirus vaccines have never been said to be 100% effective in preventing death, particularly for an 84-year-old man with cancer.

His comment also came shortly after Fox & Friends co-host Will Cain commented on how Powell’s death will lead to “conversations about the fact he was fully vaccinated, according to his family and he died from complications from Covid.”
:brickwallsmall:
‘Somebody is killing us’: Intermountain CEO has same cancer as Colin Powell, who died from COVID-19

Among the immunocompromised, the vaccine may well be protective, especially with a booster shot, Harrison said. But only about half of patients with blood cancer develop antibodies in response to the vaccine, he said — and only one-third of transplant recipients do.

Harrison, for example, only has one-tenth to one-twentieth of some types of immune cells that are needed for “an adequate immune system.”

“I guarantee you that everybody knows somebody out there like Gen. Powell or like me,” Harrison said. “The way herd immunity works is, we are relying on [others] to take good care of themselves and get vaccinated.”
:snippity:
“I can only believe that people must really just not understand if they are so cavalier. ... I can’t imagine they don’t care about one out of every 50 people.”

But at one recent public meeting, Harrison said, he found himself in a large group of people who were not masking and were not vaccinated. His risks are so elevated that simply being in the room made him eligible for monoclonal antibodies — an effective but limited-supply treatment typically given to high-risk patients who have contracted the virus but have not yet developed serious symptoms. “It did make me feel not very valued that people are putting their own convenience ahead of my own life and death,” Harrison said.
That touched me deeply. I'm disgusted with the number of people claiming religious exemptions from vaccination. Keeping their body holy! While potentially harming others. I can't think that way. When I had a cold after an antivaxer harassed me, I got tested. When it turned out to be walking pneumonia, but things got worse, I had another test. Just to be sure that I wouldn't harm someone.

The company is owned by Lynsi Snyder, the only grandchild of the founders. Her history is ... "interesting."

And, yes, she's Evangelical. The correlation between (white) Evangelical and antivax beliefs are well-document.

With estimated worth of over $4B, she's Forbes' 269 richest person.
