The P&E helpfully(!) has their mandamus petition.
The contempt order was about the identity of a purported FBI confidential informant. Engelbrecht argued she had no knowledge of the person's identity; can't cough up what you don't know.
Phillips argued that he saw only data, but had no knowledge of how that data was obtained, where it came from, and whether taking the data was an "unauthorized" "access." Philips specifically said he didn't know whether the data was being accessed in front of him, or whether it had been previously accessed. In other words, this mystery person's identity was irrelevant because there's no indication either defendant committed any tort because the access could have happened earlier, outside of Phillips' presence.
Or, reframing it another way, the contempt was unauthorized discovery. The parties should have gone through "the usual" motions practice of litigating for the information.
It isn't a great petition; it feels rushed and conclusory. But, hey: got the job done in the 5th.

Phillips is losing it on Truth over Arizona, but here’s a good one on PA.

Phillips wasn’t put in contempt jail to silence him. Exactly the opposite - a federal judge ordered him to pony up the evidence to back his (serious if true) claims. He and his partner refused to talk and were jailed for contempt.

The usual pattern of birthers, election deniers, vaccine deniers:
Nutters: "We have eblidense!! Masses of irrefutabubble eblidense: pillows, hard drives, birth certificates, eye witnesses, recordings!!!"
Rational folk: "We're skeptical but we're listening, show us, please."
Nutters: "Here's a taster, we have tons more."
Rational: "Mmm, no, that's unsupported allegations and assertions. Evidence please."
Nutters: "Errr, ok, here's some of it. It's excellent and there are tons more."
Rational: "Again, no, that's horseshit, and now you are defaming reputable people and organizations."
Reputable people: "See you in court."
Nutters: "Whhaaaahhh!! Unfair!! Oppression!! Chinese!! Communists!! Pillows!!"

https://www.latimes.com/california/stor ... ?_amp=trueA Los Angeles County deputy district attorney has been placed on administrative leave for his role in the questionable prosecution of a Michigan software executive that may have been sparked by conspiracy theorists who deny the validity of the 2020 presidential election.
Deputy Dist. Atty. Eric Neff’s leave comes in the wake of Dist. Atty. George Gascón’s decision to drop charges against Eugene Yu, chief executive of Michigan-based Konnech, according to three sources with knowledge of the situation. The sources spoke on the condition of anonymity in order to discuss a personnel matter.

I was willing to believe that it was possible that TTV stumbled on some actual misconduct, but this seems to resolve that inconsistency. As a society we need to significantly increase accountability for those who make false or baseless charges if we want our legal system to be functional to any degree whatsoever.Phoenix520 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 23, 2022 3:41 amhttps://www.latimes.com/california/stor ... ?_amp=trueA Los Angeles County deputy district attorney has been placed on administrative leave for his role in the questionable prosecution of a Michigan software executive that may have been sparked by conspiracy theorists who deny the validity of the 2020 presidential election.

So Phillips responded to a 5 month old shitpost with the vaguest post evah? Ahh I'm so worried.
How come none of these guys can remember details to save their lives?
And its sad that all he could find to post something 2000mules related on in order to get his attention fix was posted... 5 months ago. That film really shattered the public consciousness.

TTV won their defamation suit, and they are crowing about it. The judge, however, had harsh words for them that they aren't publicizing.

They repeatedly share the final page of the judge’s order…but never link to the actual order.
Why? Because the judge was NOT kind to TTV.
