The right will say this is a political witch and that the board is a leftist board controlled by Pelosi even though it is an independent non-partisan board that contains folks who have served in Congress on both sides of the aisle (which includes one on the faculty at Liberty University and another who called Obama 'uppity').

ETA: They also referred Rep. Alex Mooney, (R-WV) to the committee with a unanimous vote (this is a new one and not the one from last July).

We have found "substantial reason..." so we need to investigate further, so we are voting to continue investigating?

WTF? Can't they just investigate and come to a conclusion? Do they vote on whether or not to take toilet breaks too?

I know nothing about how Congress investigates itself.

But it is very common for government agencies to do a preliminary assessment, and then decide whether to invest more time and money in a full-blown investigation.

Not every complaint is worth gold-plated bells and whistles.

I remember 9/11 and the outcry cause of missing intelligence. The agencies then recruiting talent en masse any that could read and speak all those Arab dialects. And next a few months throwing them out in numbers cause - oh the horror - many that had considered it a patriotic duty to help fight the foreign attackers were gay. And two years later in the run-up to the Iraq war the agencies recognized that they lacked the intelligence resources ( ) and finally eliminated the outright ban for do-not-ask-do-not-tell. Apart that they also recognized that desktop workers do not need a army physical boot camp expierience.
