I'm guessing the sheriff's dept was sent in to evict them but they refused because trump was going to be back in office any day and would comp their house?
Possibly bank foreclosure. There are papers on the front door and sheriff no trespassing notices in the lawn. So, I avoided getting close enough to read the papers. Perhaps the matter may become clearer in a few days.

But, I am like a kid at Christmas. :)

I counted the number of vehicles leaving the lodge this morning.

29 vehicles total.
-3 semis
-1 fake firetruck
-1 RV
-1 schoolbus
-20 pickups/minivans/cars

1 vehicle (maybe 2) left the convoy this morning.

So, the total leaving the lodge was 28-29.

The day :hittingthefan: just before :hittingthefan: there were over 50 vehicles.

Notaperson wrote: Mon May 23, 2022 9:00 am I heard Santa say he has a tentative date in mind for the group to go back into DC, but it's likely several weeks away. He has also said they need a lot more people.

Putting the two statements together, I suppose his unstated plan is to recruit a lot more people to come join them, and only after they arrive he'll pick a day for them to act.

Santa is not very smart.
His tentative date is in 2 weeks. The plan is to be much more traditional with their "protest". They don't have enough money to drive endlessly around DC.

Supporters appear much less likely to donate right now. That might change. But supporters expected the convoy to do something big in DC. In 84 days, no convoy has made it through DC. Small groups made it inside, and, IIRC, 5 semis made it in as a group, but that is the extent of their DC "occupation".

Santa plans to keep this going for a long time. I think the group will stick together until the money is gone.

For some reason the convoy had to leave their camp by 9am this morning. I think they were supposed to have the location for 3 days. Right now the group is parking at a Walmart or truck stop until Santa signs paperwork for a new site. I'm not sure I believe that.

I guess we'll see what's happening with that.

Their new launchpad is in Bunker Hill, WV. I think it's just a big parking lot and it's literally right next to I-81. The noise will make it hard for some of them to sleep at night.

The temperature forecast for the next few days looks much more pleasant though, so there's that.

New camp is in Bunker Hill, WV. It's a 75 mile drive to DC. Both highways have tolls, so each trip is $10 and $14 for the RVs. The semis and fake firetruck will pay about $27 per trip.

In WV, gas is $4.45 per gallon. Diesel is 5.63 per gallon.

People’s Convoy gets the boot from Hagerstown Speedway: ‘I’m not a babysitter,’ facility general manager says

The People’s Convoy’s time has come and gone, at least at Hagerstown Speedway because they were given the boot from the facility Friday, according to The Herald-Mail.

The Speedway’s General Manager, Lisa Plessinger, said she asked the 100 or so people that remain in the convoy to leave the facility just two days after they returned because she tired of the infighting in the group as it tried to decide what it might do next.

“I’m not a babysitter,” she told the newspaper. “I didn’t sign up for that. So when they got to acting like a bunch of kids it was time for them to go home.

“Just like with any unruly child, you only put up with so many temper tantrums before you say, ‘Enough. Put them in time out.’ So that’s what I did.”
:snippity:

Plessinger told the Herald-Mail the problems began when the convoy began to disband and faced a leadership crisis.

“I want one convoy, one leader, one person that I have to deal with,” she said. “I don’t want to deal with a dozen. I don’t have time for that.”

She said the group’s stay was initially supposed to be a short one.

“Initially they were just to be there one day, one night, and it just turned into … like when your mother-in-law comes to visit and decides to stay,” she said.

The Herald-Mail said the People’s Convoy website could not be found on Saturday, but that it posted on its Facebook page on May 20 saying that it “declares victory and announces its conclusion of the national convoy portion of this great movement.”

Mon evening meeting:

*The convoy** had a convoy today! It drove as a line of vehicles from Hagerstown to Bunker Hill, WV.

*The convoy is now staying on an auction company's land. Cost is $125 or $150 per car per month. They have 4 weeks at the auction site, and might be able to stay longer if necessary.

The property on right on US 11. Traffic is loud. The convoy won't sleep well at that location.

*People say we're becoming a religious movement. Santa is sticking with Christianity and will work in a Christian framework ... but hey, people from ALL RELIGIONS are welcome.

*This is a MORAL MOVEMENT.***

*Every religion has the golden rule.

*If we can't govern our own selves, government will government us.

*No bible and prayer in schools. But who took it out of our homes?

*IMMORALITY!

*We must be a moral people to be a moral country.

*Men here are way too aggressive to the ladies in the group. We aren't going to let our ladies be abused by the people supposed to protect them.

Santa is going to start cracking skulls if the men don't become less hostile with the "ladies" in the group.

*DIGNITY AND RESPECT!

*Camp gate closes at 12am.

*The convoy has SECURITY!

*FLYERS!!!

*We have SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS!!

*Memorial weekend.

*Going to DC on Wed.

*NO MECHANIC! We'll get you off the side of the road, but you're responsible for your own vehicle issues.

*Leadership. When Santa said that all of the previous leaders are cowards, he didn't mean all leaders.

*Ooooo! There will be a class about the constitution! A constitutional expert will give a class about the constitution.

**I guess that's what a convoy with a political purpose considers to be an "official" protest convoy. If they drive together, it's an official convoy! Especially if they honk!!

***And now .... the convoy is the morality police!

With Roe v Wade being such a hot topic in DC right now, I don't like that 1776 is declaring itself a "moral" movement. The men in this group are swine and like to go nose to nose with pro-choice women.
