Giuliani keeps using that word "evidence". I do not think it means what he thinks it means.
It would be helpful to insert a neural probe* into Giuliani's brain to determine what he actually believes. Is he genuinely deluded enough to believe that he actually has eblidense of foul play? Or does he know that those accusations are a pile of fetid dingo's kidneys?

Isn't it like all those election lawsuits, he knows he can't bring that fake stuff up in court, but spews it when he's on the media circuit.Slim Cognito wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 7:20 am I see he didn't bother to show the "evidence" he promised to show when he planned to testify at the trial. What's up with that?

I don't know if it's accurate, but somewhere I heard that he'll keep spewing this garbage, keep getting sued and end up in contempt of court somehow. And a judge could then toss him in the pokey. Idk how likely that is, but it makes a good fantasy.

One of their attorneys talked about it on MSNBC yesterday. I also saw an article that said the attorneys were pro bono.

To be clear, I was referring to the interview, not court. Why didn’t he show his evidence at that interview?pipistrelle wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 1:23 pmIt had already been adjudicated. I love listening to Andrew Weissmann and Mary McCord's podcast, Prosecuting Donald Trump.
This week that had Michael Gottlieb, one of the lawyers for Shaye and Ruby, on the show.
A good listen in any event, but I wanted to share that Gottlieb said he is often asked why they didn't sue Mango Musollini along with the various entities/people they did sue. He ran through the reasons, which revolved around the fact that they wanted to move as quickly as possible, and knew that suing MM would involve delays. He ended up by saying that "now" and in the lights the RICO case in GA, anything is possible, and that they're looking at all options.

A heavily redacted application for a search and seizure warrant was made public Tuesday detailing the request to search nine electronic devices belonging to Rudy Giuliani's former associate Lev Parnas on Oct. 21, 2019, shortly before he was indicted. The warrant was released after an application by the New York Times.
Parnas helped Giuliani connect to Ukranian figures in an attempt to dig up dirt on President Joe Biden's son, Hunter. He was convicted on several charges, including fraud and campaign finance violations. Biden at the time was considered Donald Trump's biggest election rival.
Parnas was arrested along with fellow Giuliani henchman Igor Fruman in 2019 and accused of setting up a shell company to funnel hundreds of thousands in Russian donations to Republican candidates. He was sentenced to a year and eight months in prison.
POLL: Should Trump be allowed to run for office?
Parnas was also subpoenaed to give evidence in the impeachment hearing of Trump that involved the then-president's"perfect call" to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on July 25, 2019, in which Trump congratulated the new president on his campaign win. The conversation turned to what Ukraine needed from the U.S. and when the aid already allocated by Congress would be sent.

Rudy Giuliani filed for bankruptcy in federal court in New York on Thursday, just days after a jury ordered him to pay nearly $150 million to two former Georgia election workers for defamation.
According to filing, Giuliani listed debts between $100 million and $500 million, and assets worth up to $10 million.
This story is breaking and will be updated.
Rudy Giuliani
And, Giuliani has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Rudy Giuliani
He has debts between 100 and 500 million? He can't come with a more narrow range estimate?p He's pretty dumb for being a lawyer. Or simply just dumb.According to filing, Giuliani listed debts between $100 million and $500 million, and assets worth up to $10 million.
And besides, bankruptcy does not protect him from a court judgement, does it?
Rudy Giuliani
I think the legal eagles on the teevee have been saying this won't absolve him of the recent judgment.
I hope someone in the media springs for the full filing from PACER. I have a PACER account, but I suspect it would far exceed my free pages for the period. I always enjoy reading the debtor lists on these things

Actually, the "$100,000,001 - $500 Million" is a box that is checked on the form Giuliani had to file.neonzx wrote: ↑Thu Dec 21, 2023 1:06 pmHe has debts between 100 and 500 million? Giuliani owes almost $1 Million in taxes to New York and the U.S.
Rudy Giuliani
He did. The 100-500 million range is a block check. Then he lists his creditors individually. The known amount is around 151 million, but he lists a number of creditors as “unknown” amounts, including Dominion, Smartmatic, Hunter Biden, that former woman employee whose name I can’t recall, among others. The reason for all of his debts are either taxes or lawsuits.neonzx wrote: ↑Thu Dec 21, 2023 1:06 pmHe has debts between 100 and 500 million? An amusing (to me, at least) tidbit is the law firm name - I can’t remember the first of the five or six partners listed, but the last two names are Wexler and Goodman.
Fans of Better Call Saul would recognize those names. I’m sure it’s just a coincidence.

Thanks for the link to document MN! Am I correct, this is Chapter 11 reorganization? This one caught my eye. Disputed?

For the time being, a Chapter 11 filing prevents any creditors from taking any collection activity.
Eventually, the bankruptcy court will collect all of Rudy's assets and distribute them pro rata to all the creditors.
At some point in the case, the libel plaintiffs can seek an order that their claim is non-dischargeable, and they most likely will win that motion because the jury found that the injury was willful and malicious. But this will probably do them little good, because (1) all assets Rudy now has will be divided among all of the existing creditors, and (2) even though the libel judgment will remain, Rudy is not likely to earn much once he's out of bankruptcy.
The above is very over-simplified but, I believe, basically correct. (I used to be a lawyer, but was never a bankruptcy specialist.)
