How's everybody doing on these? Just for fun.

If they are right, is there anybody in Heaven? Those are the strictest doorpeople ever. If all this below is tagged out, reconsidering wanting to go.

Didn't check Rev 21:27 yet but won't be shocked if it isn't what they say it is.

Buy your way to Heaven! The Catholic Church brings back indulgences

These days, you can get a deal on anything. Even salvation! Pope Benedict has announced that his faithful can once again pay the Catholic Church to ease their way through Purgatory and into the Gates of Heaven. Never mind that Martin Luther fired up the Reformation because of them: Plenary Indulgences are back.

The New York Times reports that even though the church officially broke with the age-old practice -- you do something good, and the Church will help absolve you -- in 1960, the Pope has quietly reintroduced it. The Catholic Church had technically banned the practice of selling indulgences as long ago as 1567.

As the Times points out, a monetary donation wouldn't go amiss toward earning an indulgence. It writes, "charitable contributions, combined with other acts, can help you earn one." You can even buy indulgences this way for loved ones who are already dead, greasing their way to Heaven by doing something for the Church here on Earth.

Why would the Catholic Church agree to this reversal? It wouldn't be the harsh economy, would it, or the church's fading influence? Not at all, says a Brooklyn bishop. "Because there is sin in the world," he told the newspaper. Reformation? What Reformation?

Nothing unclean will ever enter the city. No one who does shameful things or tells lies will ever enter the city. Only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life will enter the city.

Good to know the selfless pigs are safe. As well as the casual gamers.

But those sports buffs! They are the worst, and deserve everything they get.

Ironically, those presuming to judge others' salvations get a pass.

The sign is correct, but has omissions, including Christian, heterosexual, saint, and many others.

Coz there ain't no heaven.

It should also include a disclaimer: other bigoted delusions are available.

And the outraged scream of "Reformation? What Reformation!" had me giggling. I hate to shock the dear writer, but there are people to whom what Martin Luther said about stuff does not mean a lot. And there WAS the Counter-Reformation.

And the sign writer should have been honest and just put Catholics up there, rather than just the Pope. I feel left out.

Anybody who obsesses on who does or does not get into heaven, does not get into heaven (not to mention, those more obsessed with "heaven" than the ministry of Christ on earth ain't getting the point and instead just loves their idolatry).

I'm basically a heathen that doesn't believe in any God, or in any of the many religions of the world. In my mind dead is dead. According to the Calvinists, it doesn't matter. Jeebus already selected or non-selected you to go to heaven. It was done at your time of birth. A change to my lifestyle or not, I'm doomed. You might be surprised at how many mainstream protestant churches were founded on Calvinist beliefs. Luther told his flock to not think about predestination. It will come between you and your worship. When asked to further clarify, he said that he wouldn't because his explanation to be counter to other biblical beliefs.
