Marjorie Taylor Greene & evangelicals are melting down over GOP plan to talk to gay people
Marjorie Taylor Greene said "the rainbow is God's sign," denouncing the party's work with LGBTQ Republicans.

After the Log Cabin Republicans announced an initiative to encourage LGBTQ Americans to vote against their own interests, evangelicals and conservative politicians – including Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) – are in an uproar.

The “RNC Pride Coalition” – a new partnership between the gay Republican organization and the Republican Party – was praised by Republican Party chairperson Ronna McDaniel for adding “unique perspectives” to the GOP during its announcement this week.

“Conservatives in Log Cabin don’t just share our vision for a free, secure and prosperous America — they enrich it by adding unique perspectives to our party and recruiting even more diverse candidates and supporters to join our cause,” McDaniel said during the group’s recent gala event at Mar-A-Lago.

She added that RNC Pride will “work alongside our other coalition groups to invest in communities and mobilize support for the upcoming midterms.”

Tony Perkins, an influential evangelical leader, is calling on McDaniel to resign in disgrace while Rep. Greene has taken to Twitter to give McDaniel a Sunday School lesson on rainbows.

The Republican Party is no longer anything more than the half legitimate wing of a terrorist organization.

Sinn Fein for people not as charming as drunk Irishmen or El Fatah for people not as hot as Yasir Araphat

It's a stupid bill that will go nowhere, and is just to get her some attention. The Republican Party wont even discuss it after this.

MTG, Boo-Boo, and Mad Cawthorn only do things for attention. They don't do any actual legislative work. Even some of their fellow nut jobs realize you have to at least look like you are doing your job once in a while.

She plays the part of a sewer rat clawing its way out of a toilet quite well.

Republican Catfight! :boxing: MTG calls Nancy Mace "trash" for condemning religious bigotry in the Republican Party. Mace fires back that Greene is 'batshit crazy'
It started when Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) launched a bigoted attack on Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN). Boebert likened Omar to a suicide bomber and declared her a member of the "Jihad Squad."

During a Monday appearance on CNN, Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) said she "100 percent" condemned Boebert's bigotry.

Here's the whole tweet.

She's technically correct. More die from cancer than covid. But more die from heart disease than cancer. And neither heart disease nor cancer are communicable. You can't walk through a crowd of people and catch cancer in an afternoon of shopping, be sick within a week, and possibly dead a week later. Cancer and heart disease patients don't overwhelm a hospital. It's difficult to forecast how many would have died if preventative measures weren't taken, but some estimate it could go as high as one factor (x10, add a zero to the end). But, even a doubling would be awful.

Ellis Island was no match for a Trumpian Wall. The let 12 million migrants slip in thru that location alone.

Po' ol' Gangreen, that is indeed some serious industrial strength stupid. While she may be correct about the cancer rate, stopped clock metaphor, and heart disease as well, neither of them are contagious or transmittable.

I seriously doubt if she even knows where South Africa is.

Further down in the thread she says that since COVID mainly affects the obese and older people the way to combat it isn't with vaccines, masks and so forth but instead to work on fighting obesity. LIke, haven't we been fighting obesity for decades already because of other health issues it's associated with? How've we be doing with that? According to the CDC, not too well:
cdc wrote:From 1999 –2000 through 2017 –2018, US obesity prevalence increased from 30.5% to 42.4%. During the same time, the prevalence of severe obesity increased from 4.7% to 9.2%. Source: https://www.cdc.gov/obesity/data/adult.html
I'm sure we can get it figured out in order to end COVID, though, right? :brickwallsmall:

And, reducing the occurrence of those two maladies is not as easy as wearing a mask. Nor is there a vaccine for either of them.
