Judge threatens to kick Trump out of court. Trump responds: "I would love it"
From CNN‘s Lauren del Valle, Kara Scannell and Jeremy Herb
Judge Lewis Kaplan warned former President Donald Trump that he could be removed from the courtroom if he’s disruptive following another complaint from E. Jean Carroll’s lawyer that Trump could be heard making comments during testimony.
Carroll lawyer Shawn Crowley said Trump could be heard commenting, saying things like, "It is a witch hunt" and “It really is a con job.”
Kaplan responded, “Mr. Trump has the right to be present here. That right can be forfeited and it can be forfeited if he is disruptive, which what has been reported to me consists of. And if he disregards court orders, Mr. Trump, I hope I don’t have to consider excluding you from the trial.”
Trump threw his hands up in response.
“I understand you’re probably eager for me to do that,” Kaplan said.
Reporters in the courtroom heard Trump say, “I would love it.”
“I know you would,” Kaplan said. “You just can’t control yourself in this circumstance apparently.”
The parties then left the courtroom for lunch.

He wants to be thrown out. Of course not.
The judge should throw him in a cell for a few days for contempt. No reporters, no one to scream at. Nothing. It would be the greatest hell that a Narcissist could imagine. Nothing to distract hm from the miserable scrap of flesh that is himself.

Judge Kaplan: I understand there is an application.
Trump's lawyer Madaio: We move for recusal. Shawn Crowley is a former law clerk, you accepted her representation... There is an atmosphere of hostility.

Trump may believe that getting thrown out will be good for his image with his supporters, however it also is showing the jury just how unhinged and easily triggered he is. It shows the jury just how truthful Carroll is with her assertions about Trump's past vitriol spewed at her.

I suspect that he doesn't really care how much the jury awards Ms. Carroll. He has no intention of paying it anyway. He thinks that, he only need delay paying until he is inaugurated as POTUS. Then he can somehow make it go away with his unlimited power. At the very least, he would refuse to pay and argue that a sitting president can't be sued to enforce a civil judgement.
Meanwhile, in the short term, it gives him fodder for his (un)Truth Social posts that the judge is biased and is denying him due process, etc. His base aleady believes this and will lap it up (and send more money).

Trump attorney asks judge to recuse himself for "general hostility"
From CNN‘s Lauren del Valle, Kara Scannell and Jeremy Herb
Before the jury entered the courtroom for afternoon proceedings, Donald Trump's attorney Michael Madaio made a motion for Judge Lewis Kaplan to recuse himself from the civil defamation case, citing a “general hostility.”
Madaio pointed to an exchange Kaplan had with Trump before the lunch break after E. Jean Carroll attorney Shawn Crowley complained Trump could be heard commenting during Carroll’s testimony. The judge warned Trump that he could be removed.
“There was representations made by Shawn Crowley, who was your former law clerk, regarding some of the conduct by President Trump. You immediately accepted the representations. There was no opportunity for the defense to respond. There was no consultation of the defense,” Madaio said. “You made representations that President Trump cannot control himself, that he’s disruptive.”
"And there’s also been a general hostility towards the defense throughout this case," Trump's attorney added as the former president returned to the defense table.

tfg's thoughts on Truth, such as they are (posted during the break)...
► Show Spoiler
tfg on Truth wrote:
I feel an obligation to be at every moment of this ridiculous trial because we have a seething and hostile Clinton-appointed Judge, Lewis Kaplan, who suffers from a major case of Trump Derangement Syndrome. In the first trial, with the same Judge, where I was asked not to go by my lawyers because it was “beneath me as a former President of the United States,” he was reported to have been extraordinarily hostile to our side. But I should have gone, if for no other reason than to witness and speak up against the abuse carried out by this Judge. There was no way that case should have been lost! I was accused of something that I didn’t do. Now, because I want to be at this Witch Hunt 100% of the time and watch what is going on, my attorneys asked the Judge for a one day delay so that I can attend the funeral of my beloved mother-in-law, with my wife and entire family, tomorrow in Palm Beach, Florida.…
…PAGE 2: The Judge, angrily, and somewhat surprisingly, said NO, you can go to the trial, or you can go to the funeral, but not both. He is abusive, rude, and obviously not impartial but, that’s the way this crooked system works!
Page Three: Additionally, he’s not allowing the “Monica Lewinsky-style” dress into the case. E. Jean Carroll said she had a dress, and when we said, “OK, use it,” she didn’t want to produce it, and the Judge wouldn’t allow the information to be brought in, because there was no information, other than it would show my innocence! This Judge should be sanctioned for his abuse of power—No wonder our Country is going to Hell! The second trial is a totally separate case from the first one, so the Jury should decide on guilt, which does not exist, instead of a reward, which I should get, not her. This Judge is not allowing that, he is not allowing me to properly defend myself from false accusations, he’s taking the unfair decision in the first trial, which we are appealing, and sticking selected parts of it into this trial. As to guilt or innocence, he is wrongfully forcing guilty, which is unAmerican. We have a very bad and hostile Judge, but we’re fighting all the way. MAGA!

Carroll: $400,000
Habba: That's a lot in today's dollars, right?

Carroll: It did well, royalties still

I know this conversation was posted above, but it lacked the last reported retort from the dipshit.
"Mr. Trump, I hope I don’t have to consider excluding you from the trial. I understand you are probably very eager for me to do that," Kaplan said.
"I would love it. I would love it," Trump responded and waved his hands.
"I know you would because you just can’t control yourself in this circumstance," Kaplan responded.
"You can’t either," Trump responded.
I feel like I've seen video clips of this behavior on court room compilation videos of unruly defendants.
AND
Habba really doesn't understand how federal court works.
AND - tfg doesn't understand this trial isn't about rape and Kaplan didn't decide the case that was; it was a jury. I hope no one on this jury finds these antics funny or entertaining. Reportedly 7 men on the jury. Don't know racial or age distribution.

Gee willikers Habba is a dope. She's trying to get a "gotcha" moment. She's too inexperienced (or dumb) to know how things work in federal court and tfg is just going to say how unfair the judge is to both her and him.
It's like she learned law by watching tv (and not even court tv). I bet she's not the one who'll question the expert (the one who knows how to calculate damages).
