My ex-wife was born in Sequim, so that one was a big deal in our household. Come to think of it, I've had a lot of people in my life from places with local pronunciations that differed from the mainstream and I've had to learn a lot of 'proper ways'. Hrm.

Just once I want to look someone in the eye and say 'No, no, no, it's pronounced FLOOR-duh' and get them to believe me.

Oh, and speaking of correct pronunciation of Coeur d'Alene, I was on CNN most of the day with several updates from their reporters. They all got it right.

I wish I'd written down his name, but Alex Witt on her Sunday MSNBC show had a gentleman who was an expert on these groups, and he had actually infiltrated this group. His insight was chilling, wish I'd taken notes. One thing that sticks with me is that he said they are Nazis, and specifically want to do away with Jews (and I think gays), genocide.
