I feel it safe to say that Frater I*I's waltzing skills are far better than my current violin skills. I have not played regularly since my early years in college and that was over 30 years ago.

I guess this means at high noon, we will have a contest to see who can f*** up better. I may have a current advantage. My violin is in real need of some TLC and the bows need rehairing. At this current point in time, they are entirely unusable. I have been meaning to take it in but procrastination wins every time.

On a Tchaikovsky-related note, the 2nd Symphony is also known as the Little Russian symphony. Little Russia was how they referred to Ukraine at the time and the 2nd Symphony uses Ukrainian folk songs in the various themes. This is not all that surprising. Some in Russia thought Tchaikovsky to be too western and not Russian enough.

This became one of my favorite threads right from the beginning. I didn't have time to respond to all the most recent entries, but I love every one of them.

I enjoyed Frater's ballroom dancing story, how wonderful. But, It gotta say, now, we needz video proof!

It's been ages since I've listened to Ghost by the Indigo Girls, I do love that one.

Nerissa Nields America The Beautiful is something special. I saved it to my music playlist on YouTube.

Because believe me if we could, my mother would surely have tape of it...

But here as a consolation prize the last song I danced with a girl to...

{Narrator: Her name was Rea Howell and the dumbass should have put a ring on that finger...]

No one asked you a damn thing Narrator....

We were a bit inebriated and decided to dance...

[Narrator: Captain Dipshit still didn't realize she was the best thing that ever happened to him...]

Our next meet-up is taking shape in my mind. TRL and hubby will give basic dance instruction and then we can all have a dance off! Frater heads up the waltz contingent. Foggy will dance with barbells and show us how it’s done.

How on earth do you dance to that, Frater? It sounds like marching music! Or did I not listen long enough?

Another favorite from that soundtrack: Roses and Wine....

[Narrator: He listens to this a lot thinking of his past romantic mistakes...]

Narrator is gonna get shot if he doesn't shut up....

Blue Man Group is currently here for a 5 day show. I'm thinking about it, but the good seats went fast and I need six together seats because kids would come with us.

Allow me to introduce you to Mongolian Metal.

The band is called The HU. They do traditional songs set to metal using traditional instruments, and includes some throat singing. Enjoy!
Very interesting - thanks for sharing that!
