There will be many weird food offerings at the Texas state fair but Indiana is stepping up to the plate.

No offense to present company, but for all I care Texas can eat a bag of fried dicks this year. Governor Roller Nazi is on my naughty list. :boxing:

Yeah, me too. Those dishes sound wonderful, but I'll hard-pass on Texas. Can't eat when you've been gunned-down dead by maniacs.

Garbanzo beans. They are garbanzo beans in these parts.

Chickpeas? :nope:

That's just wrong.

Chickpeas and Garbanzo beans are as different as Coriander and Cilantro.

All my adulthood garbanzos and chickpeas were exactly the same thing. And cilantro was the leafy part of a plant and coriander is the seeds of that plant.

All garbanzos are chickpeas, but not all chickpeas are garbanzos.

There are a lot of varieties of chickpeas, garbanzos are the 'kabuli' variety of chickpea. I think there might be a west coast/east coast difference, too. I knew them as garbanzos (and don't like them).

The only important part is that none of the above are bacon. :point:

We have "river fest" a 10 day party for our city.

Most of the party is blech although Willie Nelson was the headliner this year.

I like all the food choices. Stuff you can only get during the fest.

I love the gummy bear bratwurst! My sweet Uncle Buck taught me to eat dessert with the meal not at the end.
