Watched the pilot episode of The Righteous Gemstones, starring John Goodman as the patriarch of a crooked televangelical family. I think it's a keeper.

I've been watching The Witcher. Season 2 has hit, so watching that. :) Based more on the books then the games, so it has that going for it. And makes me want to read the books.

SWMBO has got us into "Blood and Treasure"

Infantile writing, wooden acting. Can't stop watching.

"Uncorked" on Netflix streaming.

Young man pursues his dream to be a sommelier rather than take over the family business. Endearing, thoughtful, inspiring, well cast, softly delivered, family friendly, and speaks to a large audience,

Watched the first episode of the second season of the Animaniacs reboot. Right off the bat, they did a trump as Nero cartoon complete with golf, diaper, tiny hands and bad hair jokes. And, natch, he's the greatest at eeeeeeverything.

We watched The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society last night for the third or twelve time (on Netflix). Hard to keep count. Absolutely lovely story. A favorite for stormy evenings.

I found this interesting video discussion about The Power of the Dog, which I think at least a couple other people on this forum watched and enjoyed. The video contains huge spoilers, as it discusses what happens at the end and the meaning of the title, which plays out so slowly during the movie. Jane Campion is pure genius in her direction of this movie and how she slowly reveals how the idea of the power of the dog applies to three characters in this movie.

If you haven't seen the movie, you are missing Benedict Cumberbatch in a really different role, which he plays to absolute perfection.

Here is a video with members of the cast and Jane Campion talking about the book and the movie.

I've been watching SG-1, the series, on Netflix-- I didn't know it went for 10 years/seasons. I guess I did not earn my dork honor back in the day. :oopsy:

The Royal Variety Performance.

Moulin Rouge opening was great.
Rod Stewart sanng some crap song that didn't suit him at all.
Great Acrobats.
Bill Baily killed it.
Im not a James Blunt fan.
Pretty disappointed with the female soloists.

Ive seen Matilda, and I don't think the London cast did as well as the cast in Melbourne, but they were good. I didnt appreciate Alan Davies interviewing the original Matildas, and didnt acknowledge the current one.

I’m not a fan of Rod Stewart. His voice is like fingernails on a blackboard.

IMHO, NO songs suit him. He should just kept his yap shut.

I thought I was the only one.

Too, also, Stevie Nicks. Yes, her voice is unique. But she sings off pitch, and I just can’t.

I like Stevie Nicks, but I definitely agree on Rod Stewart. The most grating, obnoxious voice in all of rockdom, however, has got to be (sorry, Kriselda) Geddy Lee. He makes my tinnitus sound good.

Just started on "Inside no. 9", a British dark comedy anthology series. They like to play around with the format to say the least, so far I've seen one with no spoken dialogue and one showing four CCTV screens, with all the action taking place within their field of view. And I've been told they did a Halloween episode that was something else, to say the least...
