(CNN)Former President Donald Trump's legal team is in direct communication with Justice Department officials, the first sign of talks between the two sides as the criminal probe into January 6, 2021, accelerates, sources familiar with the matter tell CNN.
The talks revolve around whether Trump would be able to shield conversations he had while he was president from federal investigators.
In recent weeks, investigators have moved aggressively into Trump's orbit, subpoenaing top former White House officials, focusing on efforts to overturn the 2020 election and executing searches of lawyers who sought to aid those efforts.
The Trump team's discussions are with the US attorney's office in Washington, DC, which is in charge of the investigation, and its top January 6 prosecutor Thomas Windom, the sources said. The conversations have not been previously reported.

From the CNN article above:
Trump has specifically been counseled to cut contact with his former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, whose actions leading up to and on the day of the US Capitol insurrection have been deeply scrutinized by the House panel, the people said.

If he's been told to stop talking to Mark Meadows, could that mean Meadows is cooperating with prosecutors? It would be the smart thing to do, it's all over that they plan to make him the fall guy.

I half expected to see red laser lights in his pupils. He must be 85% bionic by now.

Naw, this is when the Cheney family invents a new sport called 'Golf-Skeet'.
It’s been over a week since former President Donald Trump pledged that he would be filing a lawsuit against CNN.
Yet, instead of court documents being filed, Trump appears to be more preoccupied with begging followers to send in money to “support” the so far non-existent legal action.
“I’m calling on my best and most dedicated supporters to add their names to stand with me in my impending LAWSUIT against Fake News CNN,” a new fundraising email sent out from the ex-president on Friday said.
“Add your name IMMEDIATELY to show your support for my upcoming lawsuit against Fake News CNN,” the message declared, linking to a donations page.
That email titled “Let’s SUE CNN” was one of two CNN-inspired fundraising emails sent out on Friday.
A second email sent out hours later struck a similar urgent tune and said: “I’m going to look over the names of the first 45 Patriots who added their names to publicly stand with their President AGAINST CNN.”

I only received about 500 emails during the 2020 campaign telling me that tfg would be LOOKING TO SEE MY NAME on the list he would be given within a few hours of the imminent deadline of the fundraising goal.
Sadly, he doesn't know my name nor saw me on the non-existent list. He was too busy with hamberders and the TV clicker.
