What a coward. I suppose this way, whoever wins, he can claim his "endorsed candidate" won. Turkey.

I'm trying to figure out if he did it on purpose so he wouldn't have to choose one over the other, or if he didn't realize they were both named Eric. Either option is clearly possible with him.

They both paid the fee without checking the contract for the exclusivity clause.

Wapo did a piece on the Cemetery/Tax Grift generally giving it more credence than we did. They even mention how the place was already a tax haven because it was a "farm" and it qualified as such because he made mulch out of the trees he cut down for the faiways.

from that opinion piece, fun to read
The latest Trump grift? Burying Ivana at their golf club.

By Dana Milbank Columnist
August 1, 2022 at 5:19 p.m. EDT

In his forced (and, he hopes, temporary) retirement, defeated former president Donald Trump has come up with a new undertaking. He’s undertaking.

Technically, his Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J., is now acting as a “cemetery company.” (Suggested slogan: “People are dying to get into Bedminster!”) And he has already landed his first occupant: He just buried his late ex-wife, Ivana Trump, right near the first tee.
:snippity:
The former president has shown little interest in conventional post-presidency pursuits, such as building a presidential library; he’s not much for reading, and he’s trying to hide his presidential papers, not display them. But why would he bury himself in, of all things, the interment trade?
:snippity:
This digs up an old issue for Trump. David A. Fahrenthold reported for The Post in 2017 that local officials had approved two burial grounds at Trump’s New Jersey club: the 10-plot one near the first hole where Ivana now rests and a 284-plot parcel for anybody who wants to buy “eternal membership in Trump’s club.” The proposals had gone through various iterations — up to 1,000 graves for the public one, and, for the private one (which a Trump representative said would entomb “only the good Trumps,” including Trump himself), stone obelisks 19 feet high, along with a combined mausoleum and chapel that would double as a wedding venue.

There is actually some crossover in wedding and funeral music. Myself and other organists have often played some of the same music at both weddings and funerals.

However, a mausoleum doubling as a wedding chapel is weird. Although, how many weddings are held in a church where the dearly departed are under their feet (or at my place, just outside the windows on the south side).

Hay nao, when I open up my tropical paradise resort in Greenland I'm definitely going to have a combination mausoleum/wedding chapel.

No, wait, that's been done already. :talktothehand:

Mine's gonna be a combo mausoleum/wedding chapel/slot car track/laundromat.

So if imma getting this, a wedding march is really a funeral march? Yet another reason I am not married.

Given that his statement refers to trusting the people of Missouri to decide, it sounds like this was deliberate. i.e., he's basically saying he endorses them both because both of them will do better than the (D) alternative.

After my labs early this morning, I pulled into a Dunkin to get a couple of fritters. As i rounded the parking lot to get in line at the drive-thru, I spotted a huge pickup with a big Join The trump Train!!! graphic covering the tailgate. I rolled my eyes, placed my order and circled back around to the window. Then a god-awful honking started, someone's car alarm going off. I picked up my order and finished my second lap to exit the parking lot. Sure enough, Mr. trump train was frantically trying to turn off his alarm. I just laughed and laughed...
