Adidas cuts ties with rapper Kanye West over antisemitism
Clothing giant Adidas has cut ties with rapper Ye, known as Kanye West, saying it does "not tolerate antisemitism and any other sort of hate speech".

Adidas's Yeezy brand collaboration with Mr West was put under review, after he showed a "White Lives Matter" T-shirt design at Paris Fashion Week.

Days later, the rapper posted antisemitic comments on his Twitter account.

His products will be pulled from sale with immediate effect, said Adidas.

The sportswear brand has previously said the Yeezy brand collaboration with Ye was one of the most successful in the company's history.

Cutting the partnership means Adidas will make a net loss of £217m in 2022 as a result, it said.

I did one singing (poorly) all of the places they had lived during their marriage. There were 17 places! It made a great ending to the video with Johnny's version being played.
Awwwww :lovestruck: How old is he?

Wow, that's huge. I guess their hand was forced, but they are so tight with him I don't even know how they will unravel the ties.

Ol' Wifehorn and I had "date night" last night. We are newly empty nesters and an adorable elderly couple (until you mess with us) and we went to a restaurant we used to like, and they were 75% closed for lack of staff. Big place, but only three small booths open, one waitress for the whole restaurant on Saturday night, and we had to go elsewhere.

But now I get it. The other workers are all in the tunnels, where the rads are lower.

:oldman:
They managed to run the tunnel under the deepest spot in Lake Michigan where it is 923 feet (281 meters).

JFK's Cuban missile crisis speech became iconic. But it could have been 'humanity's suicide note'
:snippity:
However, in the event of an airstrike on Cuba, there was a very different speech prepared:

"The size, speed and secrecy of the deployment, the bare faced falsehoods surrounding it, and the newly revealed character of the conspirators involved, made plain that no appeal, no warning, no offer would shift them from their course.

Prolonged delay would have meant enormously increased danger and immediate warning would have greatly enlarged the loss of life on all sides.

It became my duty to act. The tragedy here, self-evidently, is in the loss of innocent lives on all sides. For the United States government, I hereby accept responsibility for this action, and pledge that all appropriate efforts will be made on request to assist the families of these innocent victims."

Pretty funny - Per TMZ -

Kanye West - Hey Skechers, Got Room for Me??? Shows Up Uninvited at HQ

Kanye West is making a quick move to find a new home for his Yeezy shoes ... hitting Skechers headquarters to talk with the company's honchos, but immediately got turned away.

Sources familiar with Ye's visit tell us he was at the company's main office Wednesday morning in Manhattan Beach, CA ... but this was not a scheduled meeting with management.

Skechers says, Ye "arrived unannounced and without invitation at one of Skechers’ corporate offices in Los Angeles. Considering Ye was engaged in unauthorized filming, two Skechers executives escorted him and his party from the building after a brief conversation."

Now, we don't know if Kanye did his research or not, but Skechers is owned and operated by a Jewish family -- Robert Greenberg founded it, and his son Michael is currently the President. Considering his rampant anti-Semitism, you could say he barked up the wrong tree.

A spokesperson tells us, "Skechers is not considering and has no intention of working with West. We condemn his recent divisive remarks and do not tolerate antisemitism or any other form of hate speech. Again, West showed up unannounced and uninvited to Skechers corporate offices."

The article has a photo of the owners, with Bill Clinton in their middle  I guess the political affiliation is not quite what Kanye West is looking forward to

I dunno but we were in London earlier this year visiting family and I saw some large paintings in a shop window that changed as you walked by just like that. I walked back and forth a few times, it was very cool!

We saw a huge wall hanging at the Vatican Museum, where it changed as you walked by, too. It blew my mind.
