Canadians are cute, can't help but like their accents and basic kindness. When they start singing the anthem, they refer to it as a "pop up anthem". Canadians I've met on Twitter during this like @carezzzz are funny and sweet. She just wanted them to get the hell out of Ottawa so she could move around and get a peaceful night's sleep. I mean, the protesters got out of hand and were crazy, I'm speaking of the average Canadian who were ready for these to be shut down ("They were here for 3 weeks, eh? That's enough").

Most of today's YT streams are saying "Last Day". There's some residual protest at the War Museum. That Zot steamer was released and he's back on YT. Some are saying they're moving to Quebec City next. SnickerPie is not on Odysee, she said she was taking care of "a sick friend" and thought maybe she was "catching it". She didn't say if it was the C word.

It's super dumb to be threatening more protests. This is giving the Emergency Act more ammunition. If they had just gone home and waited, it might have ended then they could have come back. But they didn't think that far ahead.

This streamer said he had no life before this, he got up, played his guitar alone and went back to bed (which he didn't make because he's "just going to get back in it again"). So he's kind of sad. He said he had a bone on the pizza he's eating, the chat said it was probably a rat.

It's amazing to watch the "protesters", esp Americans in the "protest" whine about police brutality.

3 week protest in front of Parament over vaccine mandates = a bazillion warnings by police giving protesters the opportunity to peacefully leave the area without consequences. Followed by civil consequences for most. Pepper spray and batons (used only to protect officers) used only after "protesters" become violent.

Peaceful protest in front of the WH regarding the systematic slaughter of Black people by police = brutal police/national guard attack against protesters 90 minutes BEFORE the announced curfew. Police deploy chemical spray, beanbag/rubber bullets, and batons on fleeing, peaceful protesters, including young children. Protesters give a single announcement 5 minutes before police/national guard attack protesters. Single announcement not audible to most protesters.

Canadian authorities freeze financial assets for those involved in ongoing protests in Ottawa

A weeks-long blockade in the Canadian capital has led to almost 200 arrests and prolonged suffering for businesses caught in the middle of protests against Covid-19 mandates.

Canadian authorities on Sunday froze the finances associated with certain individuals and companies believed to be involved in the ongoing protests in Ottawa, according to Mike Duheme, Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) deputy commissioner of federal policing.

The RCMP froze 206 financial products, including bank and corporate accounts; disclosed the information of 56 entities associated with vehicles, individuals and companies; shared 253 bitcoin addresses with virtual currency exchangers; and froze a payment processing account valued at $3.8 million, Duheme said at a news conference.

"We continue to work at collecting relevant information on persons, vehicles and companies and remain in daily communication with the financial institution to assist them," Duheme said.

As a result of the protest, investigators are also looking into two police-involved incidents Saturday at the protests in Ottawa, Ontario authorities said Sunday.

"The province's Special Investigations Unit is investigating two police-involved incidents that occurred at the demonstrations in Ottawa yesterday and is urging anyone who has information, including video, to come forward," Ontario's SIU said.

Preliminary information indicates around 5:14 p.m. Saturday, "there was an interaction between a Toronto Police Service officer on a horse and a 49-year-old woman on Rideau Street and Mackenzie Avenue. The woman has a reported serious injury," the SIU said.

No additional information was released on the circumstances of the injury.

Police say some protesters had grenades

The end of the strife downtown may be nearing as authorities begin to show their presence on foot and on horseback. Along with mounting arrests, about 60 vehicles have towed over the weekend, police said.

Some of those arrests included protesters who allegedly had smoke grenades and fireworks and were wearing body armor, police said.

A lot of people use the Beltway every day. Even if they managed to bring enough trucks to be noticed (it's 64 miles of minimum three lane freeway), they'd just piss off a lot of people.
