One thing that's bugged me about the whole "cancel culture" crap is that all "cancel culture" is is a good old-fashioned boycott, used at some point by every political party.

Two intruders, at least one of them armed, entered Joint Base Andrews on Sunday night, apparently after the return there of Vice President Harris, according to several accounts.

A spokeswoman for the base said one person had been taken into custody. Another person was still being sought at 10 p.m., she said. No shots were fired and there were no reports of injuries.

Joint Base Andrews was locked down shortly after Harris and four members of President Biden’s Cabinet touched down there after a trip to Selma, Ala.

I think you need a new calendar. According to wikipedia, it is, indeed, March 13.

On March 13 we change the clocks, at least some of us.

On March 20 is the Vernal Equinox, the official start of Spring.

But in these parts, I tell people Spring has not really begun until the azaleas pop.

It's 80 degrees here today, but I am not fooled.

I was born at night, but it wasn't last night. :batting:

At the Bottom of an Icy Sea, One of History’s Great Wrecks Is Found
Explorers and researchers, battling freezing temperatures, have located Endurance, Ernest Shackleton’s ship that sank in the Antarctic in 1915.

The wreck of Endurance has been found in the Antarctic, 106 years after the historic ship was crushed in pack ice and sank during an expedition by the explorer Ernest Shackleton.

A team of adventurers, marine archaeologists and technicians located the wreck at the bottom of the Weddell Sea, east of the Antarctic Peninsula, using undersea drones. Battling sea ice and freezing temperatures, the team had been searching for more than two weeks in a 150-square-mile area around where the ship went down in 1915.

Endurance, a 144-foot, three-masted wooden ship, holds a revered place in polar history because it spawned one of the greatest survival stories in the annals of exploration. Its location, nearly 10,000 feet down in waters that are among the iciest on Earth, placed it among the most celebrated shipwrecks that had not been found.

The discovery of the wreck was announced Wednesday in a statement by the search expedition, Endurance22.

“We have made polar history with the discovery of Endurance, and successfully completed the world’s most challenging shipwreck search,” said John Shears, the expedition’s leader.

The first images of the ship since those taken by Shackleton’s photographer, Frank Hurley, revealed parts of the vessel in astonishing detail. An image of the stern showed the name “ENDURANCE” above a five-pointed star, a holdover from before Shackleton bought the ship, when it was named Polaris. Another showed the rear deck and the ship’s wheel.

A video provided by the expedition’s organizer, the Falklands Maritime Heritage Trust, showed the bow and portions of the deck and hull.

I came across my old wildlife cam that never took very good photos but I decided to put it out to see who/what might be lurking about. I had a hambone and scraps in the freezer we usually cook down for the dogs into what we call num num juice to put on their night night snacks. Not that they're spoiled brats or anything

Anyway I dumped the scraps on the ground in front of the camera and we had some Turkey Vultures stop by. It took a fairly good photo and I noticed that they both have what appears to be a single long feather hanging off their chests. I tried to Google it to identify its purpose but couldn't find anything. Anyone have any ideas what it's for?

Basically it's meant to tell hen turkeys that these are cock turkeys. Some hens have them, but it's mostly on males. It's not a single long feather, it's a bunch of modified feathers.
