Marjorie Taylor Greene Fires Back at Lindsey Graham By Posting Photoshopped Pic of Senator Hoisting a Bud Light With Trans Influencer’s Image

On Sunday, Greene tweeted a picture of Graham holding a can of Bud Light with Dylan Mulvaney’s face on it. The trans influencer has been featured on Bud Light’s cans as part of an advertisement partnership, which has a recent source of right-wing culture war outrage.

The image Greene shared showing Graham holding up the beer can with Mulvaney’s image is a photoshopped fake. The original picture was captured by Jason Bahr for Getty Images. It shows Graham holding a glass of beer as he stood next to CNN anchor Dana Bash. It was taken in 2015, back when Graham was competing against former President Donald Trump for the 2016 Republican nomination.

Bud made ONE can with Dylan's image on it that they sent to her, and which she then used in one of her videos. There are no such cans on the market, though, so Graham couldn't be holding or drinking one - unless he somehow got his hands on Dylan's can, and I would rather doubt that.

Reading some of MTG and Boebert's crap about "constitutional republic not a democracy" today. Seems to be getting louder lately. I always wonder what they mean by "republic" and if they've ever had a think about what is meant by representational democracy. it dawned on me that this is more that stupid states-rights, excuse-making.

I thought they were just quibbling about not having direct democracy in the USA, but no. They have thrown out any definition of "republic" that involves lots of people voting; the ignore the idea that a republic is in opposition to a monarch, and put the emphasis on "constitutional".

To these fascists, the idea is to just do what the constitution says. Y'know, like a bible. And of course, they* will do the interpreting in their originalist way. Thus they* will lay down the law, even though they are a minority.

I've heard a bunch of the neo-fascist GOP say this week that "we're not a democracy" and "democracy is a bad idea that was never intended by the Founders." I get it now. They've twisted history and language into a pretzel just so that they* can justify minority rule in perpetuity.

Y'all probably knew that, but it was quite a revelation to me. Live and learn.

Yes, that is their ultimate goal. The new part for me was this particular pathway for justifying that goal.

This isn't new. We've seen it before. Trump was trying to exercise the Presidential Divine Right to Rule.

Nixon said "If the President does it, that means it is not illegal."

That is an extension of the monarchy's divine right to rule as given by God. As God's appointed ruler, they can do no wrong. Therefore the King can never commit a crime. Further, only the King can decide what is a crime. The King decides who the law breakers are, and thus the King decides what their punishment will be.

The GOP is actively trying to return us to an autocracy dressed in religion with the wealthy being the new priests of the temple, and MTG wants so much to be a priestess.

But in the minds of the Reich Wing, those are ALL the Bud Light cans now, and you have to certify you are Gay or Trans yourself to buy them. Reality is no longer objective.
