One of the more amusing things about Liberty University is they have an accredited Aviation program for airline pilots. Imagine your pilot being a graduate of a school that in other programs might be teaching that what holds the plane up is angels flying under the wings.

My Dad (step-father) is a grad of Hillsdale, and my brother-in-law is a grad of Liberty. Both are liberal (my parents are Religious Left, my BIL makes me look conservative) and went for the program but hated the campus life.

I can't watch tonight's meeting until late tonight so here's some gossip:

The group is angry with Pilot. Why? Pilot is annoyed that the convoy is using their station for showers.

Santa claims that the convoy has raised $24,000 in the past 10 days. $10,000 was raised during 2 night of bad, drunk karaoke. Yet, just 48 hours ago the convoy was begging for water and individual ingredients for the next night's dinner.

Last night the convoy asks that someone donate a real karaoke machine. A friend of mine graciously ordered a karaoke machine for the convoy. It should be delivered by Fri.

Two of my friends have taken pity on the members of the convoy. One sent 15 $50 Walmart gift cards to the convoy. Unfortunately, she forgot to load any money on the gift cards. Another friend sent 7 gift cards. Unfortunately, the customer service employee mistakenly loaded $0.05 instead of $50.00 on those cards. It's an easy mistake to make.

Totally expected him to exploit the baby for donations, but he said the kid has a stomach flu.

So a company told a Truck Driver it was ok for him to feck off and join some kind of Protest back in March and only now are telling him that he has been fired? There more to that story.

I conjecture that what happened is they thought he would be gone a week, 2 weeks tops. He turns up 3 months later asking when he can start back, and they told him take a hike.

I have, over the years, taken months off at a time for medical reasons. When I broke my arm I was off three months and last year when I had a pimple on my ass I was off for 2 months. But the pain in the ass I have to go through when I am on medical makes it almost easier to come to work when I'm too sick to stand or my arm has an extra pile of parts bolted to it.
